It is called Red Dead Redemption, go buy it
You missed my sarcasm. I was referring to PC gamers screaming for RDR to be released on PC. I'm not one of those who think console gamers are a subspecies of gamer, I just love my PC too much :)

Looking forward to it.

Just two small wishes:

1. Less like GTA IV
2. More like GTA III: San Andreas and GTA III: Vice City

That is all.

All together now : "We want GTA San Andreas 2!". Or something like that.
You know, more actual fun, and less not-so-fun activities.
But anyways, looking forward to this.

Bets anyone?

Who/what will the main character be?
-Will it be a she? (as speculated last time)
-will he/she be hispanic? (the only "ethnicity/race" they haven't done yet)
-Will the main character start out as a criminal (as per GTA tradition), or will they try something new by having a main character with a clean criminal record, who's life becomes entangled with the underworld?

Where will the game take place?
-Will it be a return to an old city?
-Will it be a completely new city?
-Will they do something along the lines of San Andres, a game covering a whole state, with cities and towns?

WHEN will it take place?
-Back to 20th century?
-Further in the past?
-In the "Future"?
-Or just whatever year it releases?

Place yer bets!

On a more serious note, I'm definitely intrigued, but unless this new game offers enough freedom, depth and variety to be comparable to Read Dead Redemption, I think my interest in playing GTA games is over. (Saints Row fills all my "go crazy in a city" needs, along with some I didn't even know I had. While games like Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire let me follow Rocktsar's excellence, without GTA's stagnation)

I just hope that they didn't promote the person who came up with Roman to "Lead Story Writer" and "Minigame Hustler".

Fun didn't eek out of any pore of the last game.

Don't think grand theft auto: London would work to well. Not very many standoffs with the cops would be very challenging since they wouldn't have guns.
we do have cops with guns in uk just not all of them. so if u had the wanted stars you'd get armed cops after you.

they already did a GTA london and it was good :D

Looks familiar? Silver certificate from 1899. Surely it means nothing.
Please no. I don't want to play Red Dead Redemption, I want to play GTA. I really want to play in San Andreas on a new engine. I've been playing through SA on Steam just so I could see it in nice quality instead of the crappy PS2 quality.

If that Five is the hint to the game being set in America again I'm pretty disappointed.

Guess I'll sit and wait for the week to see if they dare proceed with a female antagonist (or at least a Mass Effect approach) and whether they dare create a globetrotting adventure.

It being stated that five is of the Silver Certificate intrigues me, I'm positive it was out of print in the late 50s - wouldn't expect a numbered iteration to be a throwback.

Weird. It's also my birthday. For years I'd always bemoaned how there didn't seem to be any cool celebrities who had my birthday, but Jack Thompson's disbarment date is much cooler anyway.

Not so much the GTAV thing. Not that excited for it.

It won't be in Liberty City if they know what's good for them, there were enough intricately woven stories going on with Niko/Johnny/other bloke from dlc taking part in diamond thefts.

Returning to London won't work because there's no real gun threat, plus, 'high speed pursuit' and 'London' together is an oxymoron.

While I would think Rockstar are going for somewhere new, which is probably for the best. A part of me is thinking that going back to San Andreas or Vice City would be a nice nostalgic feeling, revisiting Grove Street or going back to Vercetti's (should I say, Tony Montana's) mansion. Even if only for an easter egg hunt it'd be nice, San Andreas gave me some of my best gaming memories, flying from my own arifield to Venturas, weaving through casinos before dropping back into Sweets house via parachute, all while Free Bird plays dramatically in the background. Ahh.

I'm guessing Vancouver. Or Detroit. Or Sydney. Or Brisbane. Maybe Moscow?
*glances out window*

actually, vancouver would be interesting. we've got the giant liberty style city, but we also have a lot of backroads and mountainous dealies which would be the perfect excuse for a gigantic canyon jump type place. no to mention that Rockstar'd certainly rip Surry to shreds in terms of personality. poor place's sort of fallen apart in the last little while.

and actually, it'd be hilarious to see them rip the "culture" we pretend to have apart. (we think we're seattle north. which is optimistic)

I liked both GTA SanAndreas/Vice City and GTAIV, so I don't really care what style the game will be.
And kudos to you Rockstar, if it's true that you deliberately chose this date to announce it. It made me laugh quite a lot and it's really satisfying that Rockstar can still do their job while Thompson can't, at least not in Florida.
