You know, Farrah Fawcett died too... and she wasn't a rapist. But that doesn't have it's own thread, and a huge banner on CNN.com...
Farrah Fawcett has had cancer for awhile though and everyone knew she was a gonner. MJ on the other hand.. It's just sort of happened

And like I've said to multiple other people who brought it up. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, which was was not.

R.I.P.

I never really believed any of the bad things that he was accused of, because AT LEAST 70% of the world's population are just a bunch of good-for-nothings who'll do anything to get fame and/or money from lawsuits.

Seriously, the Cynicism and apathy on this thread is sickening. So when the news reports non famous people died, you don't care either? It's like no one has respect for the dead any more.

Unfortunately, he's dead.

Now wait 14 seconds...

Another person just died.
Really, someone dieing isn't too crazy regardless of their abilities. He was old, and he died.
50 is hardly old.
Seconded

Am I a horrible person for not caring at all?
No, not really. The guy was probably a pedophile, a black guy who dyed himself white, and was well past his prime before I listened to music. So, pretty much 'meh' here too.

Say what you want about him, I'm sure his family, friends and fans will be very upset at this news.
"The King is dead! Long live the King!"

I wonder who, if anyone, will succeed him as the King of Pop.

Personally, I don't think any of today's pop 'stars' have what it takes to be given the title.

Could this mark the end of an era?

On a slightly lighter note, I hope they can find 6 Pall Bearers who can do the Moonwalk. That would be awesome.

Probably your average communist.

..They are going to bury him, then moments later he will rise from the ground dancing to thriller.

It was a bit extreme, but it was the only example I could think of right off the top of my head. My point is still valid though. For God's sake, I think that if you do something that horrible, you don't deserve any credit for anything good you've ever done. He ruined a CHILD, that's one of the worst things a human can do to another... Thriller doesn't make up for that... EVER
While I do see your point, if a person has died, why bother to dwell on the bad things they have done? They're not not going to be able to do them anymore and of course aren't going to be seeing justice, at least not in the way we would imagine it, so we may as consider the positives.

Of course, I bet that's not the angle certain media outlets will take on the matter, especially those of a tabloid nature. They'll probably refer to him as a "Sex Monster" or some such ridiculous moniker. What exactly does a "sex monster" look like anyway (just saw that on the front of a paper today and it made me wonder)?
