This feels something akin to when Black Ops came out:

Friend: come on, buy it. It's fun, I promise.

Me: No

Friend: They changed so much.

Me: No they didn't.

Friend: Yes they did.

Me: No they didn't.

Friend: But they....

Me: FINE. I ll buy it used. Now shuttup!

Result: Worst 40 dollars spent ever.

So, I can picture the scene, it's in the washroom, aboard the Nebuchadnezzar. Neo gets out of the shower and grabs a towel. After getting dressed, he heads to the mess hall for breakfast slop. Mouse, Switch, Apoch, Dozer and Tank all come out to greet him, much to Neo's confusion.

"But I was there, I was in the centre of the Matrix and Trinity helped me to get there"

"Trinity? Who's he?" Morpheus walks in and sits down next to Neo.

"But... but..."

"Relax, Neo. It was all a dream." Morpheus pats Neo gently on the shoulder and we never speak of Reloaded or Revulsions again.

Boom, the Wachowski brothers set themselves up to rebuild their shattered credibility and as a result, they get the chance to forgive and forget. It's pure genius.

What sequels are you talking about? There was only The Matrix, and it was great. These would certainly be the first sequels they ever made, ever. I really hope they don't ruin it with some boring, cliched man vs. machine war...

I can't wait to see what Deus Ex Machina they use to bring Neo back to life.

...actually, that's fairly ironic.

Oh, I suppose I should say that I don't dislike the two sequels. Sure, they could have been a lot better, and I've only ever seen them once, but it's not like I didn't enjoy them.

How the hell are they gonna do two more movies? They wraped the story in the last one.
Considering the last one ended with "we have a truce!, lets see how long it lasts", i would say the chances are high, they did say (the architect) "we dont know how long it will last"
i am of course paraphrasing stuff

but its being enough time for the "truce" to end, and start war again, i guess the last thing they will be able to do is bring NEO back, who is probably in "sleep" mode, after using his SUPER NORTON 22500 Antivirus against Smith

...the first one was amazing, the second one had 2 or 3 momments that looked cool (most being related to the ghosts, or the vampires), and the 3rd movie was... bad...

i wouldnt mind if they killed the series altoguether, i think the only "sequel" i liked more were the videos of "Matrix Animated" that explain more about the universe and stay the hell away from NEO as possible.

"Meh" pretty much sums up all of my feeling about this whole situation. I'm relatively certain that they will be cut from the same cloth as the last two films, and I didn't even find the first one all that enthralling. It was entertaining, sure, but I've never understood the whole Matrix worship. It had a great story (perhaps that what everybody loves...?) but the writing was horrid and the actors were just as bad.

So...more of that? No thanks.

I'm cautiously excited. I know I can trust Matrix movies to be cool, if not good.

Also concerning the whole "Neo died in the third movie" business, you might recall that he also died in the first one, and got better. Also he's basically the Jesus of the Matrix (he's even in crucifix-position towards the end if I recall) so he could reasonably resurrect just because he's the one.

.....it said two more movies. Not where they take place. It may just be 2 movies to make a live-action version of the animatrix, but twice as long........ I'd still watch it.

The story was over, what else could they do/add/make?
I'll never understand why, some people hated the second and third. If only some reasoning was offered, ever. Other than:
"MY supreme highness didn't like it wahwahqq"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Ok, let me clarify more then that.

The first Matrix movie was a mind bender, a great action movie - it could have even stood on it's own.

The final two just got so far up their own ass and wierd, they lost the appeal of the first.

I see alot of people saying that he already died. when he met with the programer he said the died seven times before that. It will be a new reincarnation of neo.
No, Neo did not die seven times before that. A person with the same kind of powers as Neo has came to be in each form of the Matrix, and was set upon a similar series of events to remove that person from the Matrix so that it could then be reset. Yes each person died, but that doesn't mean they were Neo. Neo was apparently special because of his love of Trinity. Out of all of those that became "The One" he is the only one that had a single person he was in love with. So each "One" is different.

If the new reincarnation of Neo was to appear, that should mean the Matrix was once again reset. Which would then leave huge gaps in what happened and would completely distance the new sequels from the originals, and basically would end up just being the first movie again.

The entire point of Neo's death in the third film was to ensure the destruction of Agent Smith. In order to rid the Matrix of Smith, Neo had to die. If Neo resurrects, then Smith, or some other super powerful agent, has to rise with him.

2 more?

Hmm, that's odd, I don't recall there being sequels to the matrix.

Shut up they never happened
