I'd say almost fire/steel for the pig, since his midsection and arms look like they have armor. It'd be a shame if it was the defensive version of heatran. Overall i'd wager it'll be slow, and a slow fire type is better off being an HM slave. However they look better than I thought they would.

I'm still not at all impressed. Tsutarja's final form is the only one that appeals to me at all, and having a dragon-type starter would make me say "about damn time".
However, the rest of them are still very disappointing. Not going to buy either of these games. Hopefully more people do the same (not likely) so Nintendo will take the hint and get better designers with fresh ideas.

I like all 3, sure the Firepig is the weakest but all Gens had a weaker starter Pokemon (Bulbasaur gen 1, Chikorita gen 2, Mudkip gen 3 and...well ok maybe not in gen 4...my opinion anyway. Not to say their is nothing wrong with Bulb, Chik or Mud, it's just they are the weakest in my opinion.)
But he still looks okay, and i have to say this is the strongest Grass type ever! The design is awesome, The water one is awesome as well, but i probably won't choose it because i like to see what other water Pokemon are available.

Scroll to the 6th to last Pokemon on the list. Notice how the Pokemon are nearly exactly the same. That beta artwork was confirmed official because the trainer in it was later confirmed to be official.
Odds are these are real. A while back an image of concept art for the second forms of the grass and water starters was leaked, and these match up.In any case, I'm very happy with the final forms of the grass and water starters. Both look amazing. I'm am VERY disappointed in the fire starter. I mean, what the hell? Like others, I was hoping for a flaming boar or something, not something that looks like another Fire/Fighting type, a type that while very good I am genuinely sick of seeing.
However, beyond that Pokemon the rest are shaping up great. I like the swan looking one in particular, along with the chipmunk like one and it's evolution. It cracked me up in a good way.

I want so much! Although something doesn't appeal as much about the water evolution, it doesn't look like an otter. I have the theory that if these are fakes, they were don't by expanding on the beta artworks. Also the fire evolution will be the 3rd one in a row to go with what is presumed to be its typing. It just seems like the wrong direction to go with it, a flaming boar would have suited. Grass is awesome, enforces my idea to go with it, considering there is for once a good fire type in the game, what with all the new moves.
