Those preschool backpack those middle schoolers wear.
Those are annoying.
I suppose it's to be ironic, but what's the point of irony if you can't carry all your schoolbooks? It makes little sense to me, as someone who prefers practicality over looks when it comes to backpacks.
It's not just middle schoolers, there are people at my high school who have them, too. And yes, any girls with them have superhero backpacks and any boys have princess ones. *head desk*

Another thing that's going around that I bugs me is where people try to choke themselves to get a head rush and feel like they're high. I saw some people at my school trying it and really told them off, but if they want to practically kill themselves when drugs are easily available in this town anyways, they can go ahead.

Everything else that's been said has been said, but to add...

Movie theater prices! Arg! Are you just trying to squeeze all the money you can out of us? No wonder movies are dying and everyone's waiting for the DVD/BluRay release.

Dubstep, it is generally terrible, terrible music, but I really like it, despite how awful it is, and the fact that it LITERALLY EXPLODED it popularity like less than a year after I got into it bugged/bugs the shit outta me.

People who think you're an idiot just because you're Republican.Actually, I'm more of a Centralist, but I tend to lean to the right on some issues. Yes, I support Free Healthcare, but I am no fan of Socialism, it just makes people lazy. I also think Immigrating should be made more easy, and we should place mines and snipers on the boarder saying in Spanish: "WARNING: MINEFIELD, ENFORCED BY SNIPERS, ILLEGAL TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT."

Also, assholes who PM you trying to start an argument because they're too butthurt to admit defeat. >.>

Cannabis (Weed, Pot, over two hundred nickname possibilities, literally), it's sicking to see that 50% of America in recent polls wants to vote it legalized. It's not "harmless" like people claim. There is so much evidence that proves it's not harmless, and even if it doesn't kill as many as smoking doesn't mean it should be legalized. And no, it's not just you, as it can leave behind 2nd and 3rd hand smoke if a "joint" or stoned driving which can be just as bad as a drunk driver in reaction times. And their argument it's okay? "I did it and I'm still alive. It's obviously safe!"

Yeah, because that is how science works. No, evidence collected from Universities, Hospitals, and the like from Australia, New Zealand, UK, and the United States including others shows that it's not some harmless, wonder drug. At all.

Beauty standards placed by society/media. I think pale skinny chicks with small breasts are pretty hot. Maybee even some freckles. I just hate the amount of makeup and bullshit girls make themselves wear.

Also reality tv. Its a plague on human intelligence.

Also crocs. Seriously? I hope you all step on something sharp.

And another thing that grinds my gears is our obsession with destroying our current food strucutre for 'healthy food'. I don't want to eat your soy and grains. Give me back my Krispy Kreme you stole from my town you bastards. I am dissapoint. No matter what you eat, you all die at 80ish anyways, so why not eat tasty food.
You said pretty much everything I was going to, except about crocs, yeah, they're stupid shoes, but I don't hear anyone talk about them around me, but everything else is shoved in your face whether you like it or not.

Make up is such a waste of money, just be yourself and if people have a problem with it, its their issue, being that disgusted by a strangers appearance and such, you need to lighten the hell up or else no one will love you. I remember watching when reality TV was just about starting, thank god I grew out of that phase, I regret watching it, I felt like I helped make a future where everyone looks like stupid orange whores, thanks jersey shore, you piece of shit. Also about healthy food, I like some of it, but I don't want to eat it all the time and I don't need to to live a healthy life, just eat what you like to eat basically, I don't need to be reminded every five seconds that my food is bad for me. It's people like that who need to pull their head out their skinny ass and think, "maybe I should let others make their own choices?"

I genuinely feel sorry for anyone naive enough to trust the US Government to do anything. Even something so mundane as the brand of coffee served in the white house is something they'll manage to cock up. Get the public used to constant surveillance in public and soon enough you'll get cameras on your dashboard by law. And then, once the public is used to that, they'll start putting them in your living room.

The US Government can not be trusted. End of story. They've proved this time and time again.

simply see "progress" as their means of increasing their control, hmm?
Progress isn't watching every single citizen take a shit in the off chance they might have a stroke or mug somebody. Progress is, say, balancing the mother fucking budget. Progress would be doing something about the corruption in the government. Progress could be measured as getting our balls out of China's hand.
This isn't one of those slippery-slope situations. There is a huge world of difference between security cameras in public places and mandatory installment inside civilian domiciles in shades of Orwellian sensationalism.

Hell, one could even make a valid argument for surveillance equipment in vehicles, as when you are operating one you are on public roadways and the safety of everyone else relies your careful operation of the vehicle. The safety of the general public is more important than a person's over-blown sense of entitlement to privacy in public places.

Progress can be measured in a lot of ways, decreased crime rate is one of them.

People who harp on about this shit to any extent cannot be trusted. Individuals who demand privacy in public have something to hide. End of story.

This weird, antagonistic atheism I'm seeing a lot of.

I'm not a very religious person. Haven't stepped foot inside a church since '05, and then it was only for some free stuff they were giving out to evacuees (this was during Katrina). But you know that famous saying about how religion is like a dick and that having one is all fine and dandy but you shouldn't whip it out and public and force it down peoples throat? I think that same general principle should apply to atheism as well. You don't believe in God? Good for you, but it doesn't give you the right to belittle and try and debate every person you pass that's wearing a cross. Identifying yourself as an atheist doesn't automatically make you 10% smarter. In most cases all it does is make you 10% more smug, and nobody likes smug people.

I hate hearing "gay" as a negative turn. To me, the whole "offensive" thing isn't even the point anymore; it's just old, and it doesn't work as an effective insult. Saying someone is gay when they aren't just makes you look stupid when you shout things that aren't true; when you say it to someone who *is* then that's just statement of facts. I mean, "The earth is round!" That's not going to impress anybody. And when people say it about an object like they do at my school, (you know, "That test was so gay!") that just doesn't make any sense. Paper doesn't have sexual orientation!
Moving on: Using the word "legit" in the same way as the word "cool." "That movie was so legit." So you're telling me that it's a real movie, it had actors, producers, directors, etc. Huh. So was it any good?

Red light traffic cams. My sister's boyfriend got a ticket during that awful Chicago blizzard early this year, because he couldn't stop fast enough in the icy roads. These weren't "snowy" conditions, mind you.....it was the "snowpocalypse". It was one of the worst blizzards in quite some time. NOT something you can just write off as "unsafe/not cautious driving"

But where it really becomes issue is if you try to fight it. You're "foolish" for waiting all day for an actual trial instead of just paying/going to the quick trial to admit your guilt and you have to pay court fees that are going to be near the same price or higher.

The system is broken, and authorities are taking advantage of the fact. Writing/giving a ticket is like reaching directly into your wallet.

Oh, and republicans in America misunderstanding Socialism as the government taking away all freedoms and converting to Communism. For example, the socialized healthcare = death panels thing from a few years ago.

might be different, but isn't Socialized healthcare free healthcare?

'Affirmative Action' it's silly, to make up for past racial/gender inequalities the best way to fix it is by being racist/sexist in the other direction? I think not.

What girl does that? I'd outcast her in an instant if I found out about that. And being bisexual isn't attractive, it just makes things awkward.

I also hate the gay pride, the weed pride protests. I want weed to be illegal, and for homosexuality to be a dont-ask-dont-tell policy nationwide just because of all the morons advocating for the opposite.
For the former, there isn't anything wrong with marijuana and it is said to have some minor medical purposes. That's more then can be said for Cigarettes, which are legal.

As for the latter, you'd deny a basic civil right out of spite?

Lets take some quick facts down, just want to make sure we are on the same page

- It is the case that marijuana vastly harms the brain
- It is the case that cigarettes mildly harm the brain
- It is the case that both items over (long-cigarettes, short-marijuana) periods of time, that brain function will cease.
- It is the case that it is different to various degrees for everyone
- It is the case that marijuana has minor medical aide
- It is the case that marijuana is already prescribed as medicine when needed
- It is the case that cigarettes are legal
- It is the case that marijuana is illegal
- Cigarettes are considered bad, and many people are trying to get them abolished
- You are trying to justify legalizing casual use of marijuana with an example of something that is a) far less inherently harmful b) not fully accepted by society
Who gives a crap what's accepted by society. Video games weren't always accepted by society.
Okay: So to be clear, you want society to go against many principles and facts that it stands for/with so that you can have your addiction legalized?

Video games is a great example... except for that there is no other parallel between the two, and when making decisions you can't look for some arbitrary connection and stick to it. Also, video games were never illegal in any manner such as marijuana is.

When I see arguments like "idgaf, " I know that I've won an argument.

I don't smoke weed. The whole point was that society at some points did not accept things that were harmless and accepted things that were harmful. All it is, is an appeal to popularity fallacy.

Logiclul said:

You've won nothing, you didn't even provide a source for your claims about weed's effects.
Did you /really/ just ask me to cite my sources on that? Okay you're trollan.

Also, you're the one using an 'appeal to popularity fallacy', not I. So count two strikes that you're a troll.

Count three strikes as you say that me proving your analogy wrong which you used to prove a point using the aforementioned fallacy is irrelevant.

Three strikes, you're out.
