While I cant answer for the poster, I can perhaps understand his point of view. There's nothing wrong with homosexuality, but isn't it about time (if you'll excuse the expression) they stopped ramming it down everyones throats. Hasn't acceptance of homosexuality reached a point where it's going to be pretty much as acceptable as its going to get?

Is a gay marriage recognized as a marriage by the federal government? No. Is homophobic bullying still taking place in our schools? Yes. Are homosexual men still targeted by homophobic people and religious groups? Yes. Then no, it isn't as acceptable as it is going to get. We still have a long way to go and we shouldn't settle for good enough.

Also, the fact that groups like the Westboro Baptist Church still exist, and worse, are allowed to picket funerals and other events. The question was simply a point of interest with so many varied languages in such a condensed area, and as I have never been out of my own country. God forbid I try to learn about how businesses in other nations operate..

Indeed bullying will always exist. No amount of gay pride marches is ever going to fix that.

Also homosexuality is considered a sin by most religions. Interesting how religion and morales collide when it comes to this particular topic. Whilst we're not talking exclusively about homosexuality here, the practice of buggery is considered filthy by lots of people that aren't religious but maintain a moral attitute, having morals doesn't make you homophobic.

Unlike being black or a woman, homosexuals can currently exist without anyone knowing of thier sexual preference - the problem in my mind is that so many want to openly rub peoples faces in it through unnecessary attention seeking behaviour.

For the former, there isn't anything wrong with marijuana and it is said to have some minor medical purposes. That's more then can be said for Cigarettes, which are legal.

Lets take some quick facts down, just want to make sure we are on the same page

- It is the case that marijuana vastly harms the brain
- It is the case that cigarettes mildly harm the brain
- It is the case that both items over (long-cigarettes, short-marijuana) periods of time, that brain function will cease.
- It is the case that it is different to various degrees for everyone
- It is the case that marijuana has minor medical aide
- It is the case that marijuana is already prescribed as medicine when needed
- It is the case that cigarettes are legal
- It is the case that marijuana is illegal
- Cigarettes are considered bad, and many people are trying to get them abolished
- You are trying to justify legalizing casual use of marijuana with an example of something that is a) far less inherently harmful b) not fully accepted by society

As for the gays things, I believe that that policy should be enacted, and it isn't out of spite, rather it is the case that because they are being so vocal of their belief, and I'd rather not know, I'd like a law that protects that desire.

I mean, I AM a white, middle class heterosexual male, and the only thing I have to do to see all the crazy civil rights shenanigans still going on is to look around me and PAY ATTENTION. I'm part of my college's pride organization and I call myself a feminist and read feminist literature and volunteer my time tutoring kids in the projects down the street, and all sorts of other hippie things, but all I ever seem to get for it is shit. Like I'm somehow a poser because I care about things other than myself. Seriously. I have a shirt that says "This is what a feminist looks like" and I've been accused, so many times I stopped counting, of wearing it "just to get laid."

I feel like making a stand about things that don't involve me, because they involve my friends. As soon as the kid you grew up with gets the shit beaten out of him on the way home from school because he was seen with his boyfriend in public, gay rights really does start to effect you, in a very real, personal way.

I'm sorry, but this deluge of generic hip-hop and party songs doesn't even begin to approach listenable for me anymore. And it's fucking EVERYWHERE I GO NOW.

I can admit when my opinion or bias gets in the way of appreciation; I love playing music (when I can).
But this is a case where I have just run out of patience: Autotune has to go. I don't care how pretentious or snobbish it makes me sound, but I cannot stand to listen to this "musical" drone-buzzing anymore.

If it were up to me, every single "artist" that relies on it would be out of work TOMORROW and the autotune system absolutely forbidden from being used for any purpose other than satire; at least on the radio.
Se, when I hear an autotuned song, I can hear how hard the software is working to "correct" the singer's voice, and the harder it works, the more it "buzzes" (the only way I can describe it).
It sounds like this modulating tonal "buzzing", as if Autotune and the singer's incompetency are engaging in a war over that sound channel.

What's about 5x worse is the idea that anyone who has a religion must be an idiot who doesn't think rationally, doesn't use science and uses their god as an explanation for everything.

Couple weeks ago there was a public speaker in my class and he said that when he was working as at a jail and he saw a man sagging his pants everyone would say "If you're sagging you're fagging"
This raises a major question... who the F@*( thought it was a good idea to wear at a public school. I mean c'mon even middle schoolers (and no doubt a few elementary kids) are doing this.
Its just too rediculous to believe they would think this is cool and even wear the pants so low they are falling down to the ankles if they dont hold it by the waist (which ends up well below their balls)

That whole issue is a vicious circle that takes billions to break and no individual country and really break it in fact breaking it would take just about the whole world donating huge chunks of there salary towards breaking it which is why it has not happened. On the other hand it is slowly getting better as the standards of living increase I mean some places are still awful awful but on the large scale it is getting better.
