The fact EVERY. FUCKING. SERIES is getting a reboot now to be 'darker and edgier'. Ok, yes, some series require reboots and some of them are pretty good BUT, we don't need every fucking series in the whole world to be rebooted simultaneously. Seriously, just give it a break already...
Have you seen the one where Joey kills everybody?
1. Who's Joey?

2. What is he from?

3. Why..does he kill everyone?
1: I think Orky is referring to Joey from FRIENDS, a sitcom tv show
2: Friends
3: He doesn't, he's a happy jokey character that because of this gritty reboot will kill everyone (its a joke)

this is also purely Australian, don't know if everyone is aware of it but the whole Aboriginal rights thing annoys me, it's gotten to the point that if you don't like something Aboriginal you're a racist. The government's also working on to change the history they teach, so instead of Europeans settling Australia, they invaded it.
Uh, Im not aware of any change in the 9-10 history syllabus?

I'm bothered by the fact that offending someone has almost become a crime. People throw up they arms and act as if they have been mortally wounded when they here or see something that offends them. I could continue to rant, but I'll let Steve Hughes do it for me.

Ah! I see, well, now i now that.

Well, it's my fault for not getting the joke seeing as i didn't actually watch Friends simply because it didn't really interest me (I've watched very VERY few sitcoms in my life as most just don't really appeal that much too me). Just personal preference though, but again my fault for not getting the joke ^^

in regards ot the shcool thing I got a fair amount of guilt tripping in my classes...HOWEVER regardless of if you call it "settling" or "invading" theres no denying the british colonists did what british colonists did best....be dicks to the locals

one trend I hate are "reaction" trends

take one trend, such as gritty reboots or brown gritty games...then get HUNDREDS of people complaining and complaining and comoplaining untill they seem to proclaim those elements within them selfs are BAD full stop, no matter how well executed

People driving 4WDs and SUVs on-road. And particularly, on suburban and urban roads. If it sits higher than a sedan or masses above 2500kg, you should need to hold an LR license to drive it, BECAUSE IT IS NOT A CAR AND DOES NOT DRIVE LIKE ONE.

People who drone on about big brother and how their rights are slipping away in the western world.

Sorry bro, the public transit authority in your area putting video cameras on the buses that belong to it is not a violation of your privacy. Neither is police controlled video cameras in public places.

In your home would be, in public is not. It doesn't matter how much you ***** and moan, your rights aren't being violated. Stop fighting progress and what is in the best interest of public safety.
I love you. Someone else who understands that there is no expectation of privacy in public.

They were dicks to the locals because the locals kept trying to spear them.

what exactly is right-wing mindset? not exactly familiar with the term and definitions, heard it thrown around but unclear as to what it is
for americans that's republican
For germans at some point it used to be nazi'sm
for italians it used to be fascism

I wonder what manner of right wing he was talking about

Parents who let the internet, TV and video games raise their children and then wonder why they have no manners or act out. I understand parents have busy lives, but part of having children is the obligation to actually participate in raising them. I used to work at a Toys 'r' Us and I can tell you that it really is insane what some parents let their kids get away with. Aside from that it really bothers me that you can't spank children anymore without it being child abuse. When I was younger I got beaten with cordless phones, wooden spoons and all manner of blunt objects and I turned out just fine, and with a healthy respect for the rules. Now obviously some of what happened to me might be a bit overboard, but I honestly think that sometimes the only good way to teach someone is with the occasional dope slap.

It annoys me when religious people claim that they're facing discrimination because they aren't allowed to put the ten commandments on public buildings or mandate prayer in schools. Bonus points for when they immediately turn around and decry the middle east for being an Islamic theocracy.

EDIT: I find it amusing that I happened to post this right after the previous comment...
IM not saying religious people are being discriminated against, just its tiring to see the constant fighting and demonizing of religion as more and more young people say they're atheist without really grasping the concept of what it truly means.

...

its actually kinda hard to explain why I feel this way, since Im Catholic and have that on the outside looking in relationship with atheism.
I understand what you mean by the outside looking in thing; just about 2 years ago i was a pretty religious Lutheran, have since turned agnostic, so I've seen this from both sides of the fence. Back when I was very religious, i felt sorta the same way you feel about the common atheistic attitude towards religion, and i despised most of the strongly atheistic people who talk out against religion. but ever since i came to terms with my faith and became agnostic, i find myself increasingly agreeing with some of it. I'm growing to have a serious problem with how people use religion. Note, i don't think religion is inherently bad, but what I think is bad is how many people use it; many people use religion as a reason or to justify varying levels of intolerence, but most of all i dislike how many people refute basic science simply in the name of religion. I don't mind whatever people believe, but people cannot choose to ignore scientific facts simply because of beliefs.
Im an atheist and i couldnt have put my views better than this.

There is nothing wrong with belief until it becomes an insitution which allows people to have control over others.

Believing in a god doesnt make you an idiot like ive heard alot of people say, but using faith to excuse injustice/ignorance is also unacceptable

Why is that disturbing? Personally, I find the "large companies are evil and corporate. They just want your money and that is bad" attitude more disturbing.

Another one I just thought of, this one is more musical.
The trend by teenagers to call any band that has one growl and/or blast beat "HARDCORE DEATH METAL" makes me want to punch them with a crane

Additionally: People who believe what they see/read daily on TV and online is an accurate representation of the world, especially when what they only ever seek out those things which support their skewed worldviews.
Probably because of this... but people doing this isn't anything new, really...

It does bother me that the young people of today don't really seem interested in finding out the truth, though... They're happy swallowing the corporate media's happy pills...
Yeah, b/c there isnt any left wing bias in any of the media today... especially toward the lazy smelly leach hippies in the parks around the world.

Im tired of people i didn't elect into office spending my money.
I have to pay for the debt the people are making now, not them.

I hate that if you fight back in school it is concidered bullying. I will defend myself.

damn tiny backpacks!!!!

WTF is with the people thinking they can decide what the cops do with public property, if it was theirs they could do something about it.

Im tired of people not LEAVING ME THE HELL ALONE!!!!!

while that mabye true to some extent I dont think theres any glossing over the fact that colonists were also dicks to natives because they belvied they were an inferior race and were quite happy to exploit them in anyway...not just Australia but ANY country colonized

I mean the wasnt the stolen generation about breeding them out? and also not the mention the white Australia policy

while I think there are two sides...I dont see anyway of glossing over the fact that there were alot of rasict people back in the day

i don't like the whole mulsims can where head-dresses where-ever but christians can't wear little crosses at work. I AM NEITHER, I'm a damm duelism pantheist and I still think thats wrong.

I am also English and know why this is happening, I call it the "new people politics"
As a sensible Englishmen I'm wel aware we're all immigrants here: (england= land of the Anglos, a germanic tribe that moved here in the 5th to 6th century (We both like beer, sausages and conquering, kinda ovious if you think about it.))

But, throughout history we have always given a little too sensitive treatment to whoever was new.
Now the mulsims are the newest in so we are bending over backwards to not offend them while not caring about some of the oldest. (A note I am not good at history but i'm pretty sure white christians are nothing "NEW" in england considering church of england and it being a traditionally christian country)

Anyone remember that old poem "When they came for them, i did not speak up" ?

Surely the next new lot to england should speak out and mention how unfair this is and we can actually have some REAL equality rather than just caring for either the new dudes or those in political power (thats an arguement for another day though)

Anyone else getting this?

Environmental destruction.

I know people who bring this up tend to get branded as tree-hugging hippies and shouted down. However, the nasty little fact of the matter is that we have a finite amount of planet and we're using it up at a quite a rate.
