I mean, as horrible as this sound, the kid still has a shot at recovery, even if with scars, while this guy fucked his entire life and, like I said, no sane person does that.
It's sad because both parties went down in flames, even though the world, as always, will go "ZOMG U BASTERD" and pin the guy as Hitler, which, in a way, is also understandable.

He should get a life sentence. This man is clearly a danger to society. If it were just the one time when he was drunk I might understand it when the court inenevitavly gives him 30 years with parole but the man, knowing full well what he had done attacked the child again in the morning for even less of a reason (if thats possible) than before.
