Wont the pc version be alot cheaper like every other game?Logan Westbrook said:This news probably won't be quite as popular with Xbox 360 and PC players, however, as they will have to fork out the same amount of money as PS3 owners in exchange for significantly less content.
Steam doesn't have viruses, some games, like NWN2 give a falso positive if you have a really bad antivirus like avira free or norton.ookie37 said:nothing has ever given me more viruses or lag then having a steam account. i would not wish that on anybodies PS3. On the flip side, i do want portals.... conundrums...
just buy the ps3 version?karloss01 said:nice to hear but what i want to know is does this offer work both ways? as in you buy the PC version and link you PSN account and get a PS3 copy of the game. if not seems a bit unfair for the other two platforms.
Weird.ookie37 said:nothing has ever given me more viruses or lag then having a steam account.
oh whine about it. valve didnt even develop the orange box for the ps3 and i hate how gamers feel they deserve crap cause they buy crappy ports. the extra copy is NOT payback for the orange box. its because the game uses (fully implements) steamworks, and when you activate a game on steam its downloadable for your account. its like how at least valve games (not all other devs though) you can buy the pc version and you can get the mac version free. i wouldnt be suprised if it works this way for all the ps3 versions of valve games from now on.SaintWaldo said:And, to the other platforms: please don't see this as you NOT getting that extra copy. That extra copy is DIRECT PENANCE AND PAYBACK FOR ORANGE BOX PS3. Y'all got 3 games that were done right the first time, we get two copies of the SAME GAME. Not exactly crying material, imo.
I would, as a friend of mine is going to get it on the ps3, but I want custom maps. Now I can play with him, have custom maps, and even get trophies as a bonus!jebussaves88 said:Why would you want it on more than one platform anyway?
I imagine, considering the amount of fanboy rage it caused among 360 fans that Bioware made Mass Effect 2 better on the PS3, that you are right about them not being happy about this.Logan Westbrook said:This news probably won't be quite as popular with Xbox 360 and PC players, however, as they will have to fork out the same amount of money as PS3 owners in exchange for significantly less content.
TF2 co-op? Surely you're jesting? Aside from the lack of actual co-op in the game I gather that the PS3 (and 360) version of TF2 is atrocious so it would need some brushing up. And a million updates.KEM10 said:I do. Potential for L4D2 co-op, TF2 co-op, and opening the door for some AAA cross platform co-op (dare I say, the next Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty cross platform multiplayer).USSR said:PSN and PC - Portal co-op?
Not sure how I feel about that.
That's actually no different than buying the PS3 version and getting the PC version as a download. You still get it on both platforms, you just have to buy it on PS3 to do so. Doesn't make a lot of sense to reverse it.Dexiro said:It does seem a bit unfair if the deal doesn't work the other way around as well. You should be able to buy the PC version and get the PS3 version for free, maybe as a PSN download.
