Any enemy in Extermination. Don't know what that is? It's Dead Space 5 years ago and in an Antarctic research facility. You don't get any special future guns, just an M-16 with attachments. Oh, and did I mention that you can get the infection, and if left unchecked, you become one of the monsters? Yeah. I still won't play that game.

Those Cyborg Midwives were scarier than S.H.O.D.A.N., but I eventually got over that through classical conditioning genocide procedures.

Yeah for some reason they really scared the crap outta me. I'd usually be pretty calm with the other enemies (just obstacles in my way) but whenever a midwife showed up it would freak me out and I'd get sloppy and waste lots of ammo/health. I got over it enough to get through the game but they still get to me more than any other enemy.

SINISTAR

"BEWARE! I live!"

I forgot how creepy that game was. Your ship is so alone and it so quiet while you frantically mine bombs. Then there is the awful moment when SINISTAR is built and ready to kick your ass. Possible the scariest arcade game ever.

I'm not really scared of them because they can't get me, so I can taunt them through the screen all I want but as for who inspired the most in game dread or I would do anything to avoid;

Nemesis from RE3, he's got tentacles and is just so big, and the grenade launcher. The Insane Cancers from Silent Hill 3 were always pretty freaky just because I knew there was nothing I could do to stop them. Jenova from FFVII was pretty freaky too.

Regenerators from Resident Evil 4. I never figured how to kill them properly until years later, because I never found that thermo scope, so i resorted to shotguns and eventually infinite launchers. A few enemies freaked me out in the game actually.

One of the few things that scared me was the (crap how do you spell this) duhaka (???) from Prince of Persia 2. Man the godsmack music starts playing and you cant kill it, only run. However the scariest song ever is twinkle twinkle little star in Dead Space, creepiest thing ever.

hmm. Proably that inner demon guy from Condemned 2. He wasen't freaky in a sense but the hallucnations he pulled off freaked me out. Also since I skipped over Condemned 1 I had no idea what to expect.
