Imagine a man trying to pull this off. It would be the biggest laugh the whole world has ever had simultaneously.

Damn you women, why do you have so many alterior ways of making money...

It's not illegal in, you know, the place where she's going to do this, Nevada.

You are aware that in certain counties in Nevada, prostitution is legal, right?
Quite evidently I wasn't aware of this, that doesn't change anything though, does it? That just means Nevada is a loophole.

The point of my post wasn't to point out that protitution is illegal, but to point out that disliking prostitution doesn't mean that one dislikes/oppresses womens sexuality, rather the opposite.

Feel free to act as a forum perfectionist anyhow, though.

Hey, not our fault we're not as sex depraved as men :p

Everything (well, 99%?) sexual is catered towards men. Porn, prostitution and brothels, playboy-and-the-like, even the depiction of women in games.

Hell, it's so bad that women that have a lot of different partners are sluts and whores (negative), while men that have a lot of different partners are studs, pimps and players (positive).

And stop making such a big deal out of this. "Oh noes, get me off this planet! What is the world coming to!". It is hardly her fault that it's so easy to make a big buck out of simple minded sex depraved men. 'sides, if this is so bad, why are none of you running any protests against prostitution or whatever?

There's nothing cynical about it. It's just that when you get older, you realize what's truly important about sex: self-expression and emotional connection with another human being.

Also, the whole idea of sex being about judging people worthy...this isn't an area where it should be a competition or about measuring up to some standard of excellence. It should be about enjoying your own sexuality, whatever it may be.
+1

Virginity shouldn't be something thrown away or sold, it should be something given to someone that deserves it. I just can't see how a someone in the world we live in can do such a thing.
Its something weird, prostitution is one thing but this is just ghastly...
Reminds me of the movie memories of a geisha... but without the charm

Price of lay, 5k gold.

Gold, not money.
Best part of that article was the WOWgold add under the header showing she was only charging $15 for the service.

as for OP. At the risk of making an overtly steriotypical generalisation; im gonna guess if the bids are genuine the winner will be an Oriental businessman (or perhaps a group of em :-D)

Irony at its finest...a degree in women's studies?
On that note, is that even a subject? What the hell is women's studies?
It's a bunch of course about women and gender in society, politics, and history. 30 seconds with Google or Wikipedia can tell you all that.

Great. I'm not sure what's worse, her feeling that she has to sell her body to go through education, or the people who think it's awesome. Either way it isn't good. It may encourage other women to think like this, and although I'm not against prostitution as such, I find it sad that something like a girl's virginity has hit such a large amount of money.

When you "give" your partner your virginity, you're not actually "giving" anything tangible away. It's all just a matter of mindset.

It's quite likely that your "first time" won't actually be your first orgasm or your first experience of romantic passion. It's almost 100% certain that it won't be the best or most memorable sex of your life. So, why is it special? Oh, that's right, because your culture says so.

There's nothing "ghastly" about occasionally questioning cultural beliefs and ignoring the ones that are just fluff.

Well because we're the lazy type of people who like to say we're appalled by something, then continue chainsawing aliens in the face.

Also, how very much above primal instincts humans may be, there's one instinct that just won't be silenced with us men: the need to 'spread your seed' or something like it. Sounds like a dumb excuse, and I must admit some do use it as an excuse, but it's still a basic instinct which modern society caters to far too much.

Also using the knowledge that most men are 'sex depraved' as you call it to make money doesn't help to steer the whole thing around either. You have all these women who complain that men should act more decent and stop being so goddamn horny all the time. Well, it's not helping to see someone from the same sex as the person who complains about sexually depraved men to sell her body on the net.

I'm not saying men are the victim here, of course it's all our fault to an extent if you look at the history books. Unfortunately it's a problem that never going to change: You've got two diferent sexes and two different groups within them, and as long as that is the case you'll always have women fighting for equal rights but also women who demean themselves in brothels.

To finish: Men can and sometimes are 'sluts'. I've seen it. It's not pretty.

This ain't the first time this is happening. I do remember a thread on another forum for a chick exchanging sexual favors for a WoW epic mount. But 3.7 mil is a bit extreme.

Don't associate with many leather dykes, do you? There's plenty of by-women-for-women porn out there, but you do gave to go off the beaten track.

I do agree though that hetero male vanilla porn makes up a regrettable 80-90% of adult entertainment. It's man's market for the most part.

Also, for humors sake: Strap On, spelt backwards, is "No Parts".
Don't worry, I know about this sort of porn. It's not exactly 'popular' and most of it is still catered towards men. And no, I don't associate with "dykes", just lipsticks. But I won't go into detail :)

That's an interesting bargain... For something quite worthless you get millions... Sure it's nice to lose your virginity on somebody that matters to you, but I don't really think she cares and I'm not even sure she's a virgin, since there's no 100% way to prove that at least. Anybody who considers it's worth paying that much cash to spend one very awkward night with a girl who will be about as useful and frozen as an emotionless blow up doll has obviously something wrong with his noggin...

You also have a lot that don't. There are plenty of women who are just fine with how horny men are all the time. They are *awesome* and I hope you run into them someday.

What about women who are fighting for equal rights who don't consider what they do in brothels demeaning?
Alright you got me. There are probably 3 groups then, just to describe it very roughly.

I have met those women, but I regard them as the same women who abuse their sexuality to tap into the man's horniness.
