hahahaha, what? Munich Pro-Israel?, what are you smoking? I am "anti-Israel" in the sense that I don't believe it was the right thing to give the Jewish People a piece of Arab Land to live in, but still, Munich was a masterpiece, the scene where the Mossad Agents and (was it palestinian/african-arab tero were chilling together was well done and powerful by itself).RebelRising said:I am completely with you on this. Having Jewish heritage myself, I would never marginalize the shit the hebrew people have been through, but now it's all just a scheme to guilt the Western world into advancing the Jewish master race. Between the Israel lobby and the possible assassination of JFK by Mossad, it seems that, instead of just turning their backs to that region altogether, they're constantly dragged in to destroy one Arab country after another. Have you seen Munich? I don't dislike Spielberg, but that was just plain pro-Israeli propaganda.Zamn said:The response to this speech is a joke. It was a hate speech in the same way that anyone who criticised the killing of over a thousand Palestinian civilians in Gaza earlier this year is anti-Semitic. The response of American news outlets and people on an American-dominated forum such as this one demonstrate the complete unwilligness to allow any criticism of Israel in the United States.
I disagree with Ahmadinejad on many, many things but the assertion that Israel is a state founded on racism is a sound one. It's raison d'être is to be a Jewish state, not a multi-cultural state for Jews and Arabs alike. The Palestinians of the Gaza and the West Bank are not afforded any rights as Israeli citizens despite the fact that they live under effective Israeli occupation. Even the Arabs within Israel proper who are given citizenship are the victims of rampant institutionalised racism of the sort which would not have look out of place in the Deep South fourty years ago.
You may well disagree with my position or Ahmadinejad's on this on this but you should respect my right to hold it. This isn't a 'hate post', it's a criticism of Israel and should be treated as such.
I think Ahmadinejad is as crazy and hateful as the next person, but he's, well, kind of saying something that needs to be said.
Khell, this time he didn't "spout cliff-notes version of his usual tirade". Well, I don't think we have been give a complete version of what he really said. But he still didn't go around to bash Israeli Jews, mainly it's racists foundations, and it's government xenophobic actions (from treating arabs as second-class citizens etc ... etc ...)Khell_Sennet said:There's missing the point, and then there's the above post.Zamn said:The response to this speech is a joke. It's not that we are backing Israel, in fact I cannot stand that nation any more than I can stand Iran. It's like a pair of children who won't play nice, sooner or later someone like Canada is going to come along and drag BOTH of their asses into the corner for a time-out. Don't care who started what, or who did what, the bullshit just needs to end.
But the real point is that this conference was to be a measure against racism, to which Captain Islam completely ignored and spouted a cliffs-notes version of his usual tirade. Israel's leader did not come in and sputter off about Iran, at least there is no mention of it. So I'm going to assume that they came there at least willing to give friendly relations a try. Iran did not give the same courtesy. And the whole event wasn't supposed to be a forum for their retarded fight.
While this is mostly true, he isn't in any position to criticize Israel for being a discriminatory state, what with Iran's long list of human rights violations towards its minorities and homosexual population.cainx10a said:Khell, this time he didn't "spout cliff-notes version of his usual tirade". Many European countries have Christian Cross and nearly all of Islamic countries have Crescent Moon. Ohh the pain of racist countriesgh0ti said:It's the greatest tragedy of the modern world that Israel is a religious state. How can Muslims possibly participate in a country that uses the Star of David as its national symbol? I know the idea was to give Jews a homeland (which was vital), but there is inherent racism in the existence of Israel.
But not all of these countries were founded on lands with significant populations of people of other faiths (diverse pagan groups aside). Further, these countries don't have such a troubled recent history of mutual violence between peoples of different faith. And finally, these countries are not religious states to the same extent as Israel. I used the flag as an example, but there is no denying that Israel is pro-Jewish and anti-Islamic.Dele said:Many European countries have Christian Cross and nearly all of Islamic countries have Crescent Moon. Yes you played the 'race' card, in that you said you were a Jew, and hence you were in a position to declare his speech as being racist. This was your reply to a person stating that the speech was not in fact racist.Speaking as someone who had a Jewish farther in Lebanon, (who fought two wars), Egyptian grand parents, has 5 closely related Muslim cousins and is Jewish and have also been to both Tel Aviv and Beirut (Yes what a shit family backround). I can not express how wrong you are in every way.
