Isn't the point of camouflage to hide yourself? That sniper girl could be in the middle of the forest and still be spotted a mile away due to her chest is poking out. The men are covered in armor and full gear, Face is pretty much covered so we can't see them and the girl just casual military clothing with cleave? Yeah doesn't seems to good.

Read this guys comments as "Blah blah blah blah blah blah recoil, blah blah blah blah blah tits, blah blah blah our customers like tits, blah blah blah blah blah blah, tits."

We get it, sex sells, you're selling out. Just cut the waffling and admit it.

If not, what will the horny teenagers fap to? I mean, there is a decided lack of places for teenage boys to find fappable material on the internet.

I'm ok with sexy lady characters, but what's up with the name of this game? Warface... Is the sequel going to be Warface 2: Angryface?

Are we now going to point out every potentially hyper sexualized female character in a game that should or should not be so? Since all of this is fantasy, even if pretending to be reality based, games, who knows what they would or would not wear. The genders are different, the majority of gamers, especially FPS type games, are young males, and the game makers know it. So they make stuff go boom and look pretty. You may not like it, hey, even the women in my gym dress a bit differently than most of the guys. So no, it's not on par with ok let's see the guys wear something like that. That argument is as old as the milk in my refrig, and I aint drinking neither.

Crytek is like that stereotypical nerdy kid that gets mad if you touch his ultra rare Yu-gi-oh card. He'll throw a huge fit and call you a cheater when things don't go his way, and he has zero knowledge about women. I'll admit that their engine is cool, but their games suck so much that even a game like Call of Duty would be offended.

OT: If you're going to give the men body armor, it only seems fair, if not morally right, to give the girls body armor too. COD:Ghost is doing, Rainbow Six: Vegas did it, Ghost Recon did it, and Halo did it.

*Rings dinner bell*

Oh Anita, it's dinner time!

OT: Considering my incredibly low opinion of MMS I'm honestly not sure if this is a step forward for allowing their player base to play as women or a step backward considering that no self respecting female soldier in any country would be caught dead wearing that attire in combat.

Just say that you believe your customers like sexy ladies and leave it there.

Pseudo-intellectual bullshit just makes you look both pretentious AND sexist. If you just say it's because what sells at least you can appear as though you're just neutral in the gender debate and only in it for the money.

I will throw money at a developer who responds to the question "Why are all the female characters sexualized?" with "Fuck you, that's why."
You can go anywhere else for titillation. Just Google tits or whatever. But saying "fuck you that's why" to a decent percentage (yeah, not fully half *holds up hands*) of gamers for no other reason than "because tits" makes those who make games sound stupid and dumb. it doesn't make sense from a BUISNEZZ OR a human standpoint. As for you? Just flick through the big tits section of Pornhub, you'll find plenty of "eye candy" there. Or you know, go outside. Just a suggestion.

I'm one of those assholes who thinks most people that complain about female designs are just dumb and even I think those designs are poorly done.

Over the top is great, but not when everything else looks super tactical and realistic.

It's an issue of consistency.

Also this.

If they want tits, fine, but don't try to make silly cultural arguments.

I really like Planetside 2 for the way they did female characters in that game. More feminine faces, slightly curvier under the armor and with female voices. Makes me feel just as badass as the boys when I play that game. Backlight also did their females well (last I checked), and I see NO reason why playing as a sensibly clothed female can't be an option in more games...

Playing a cool looking character like that makes me feel more like a warrior and less like a stripper X3.

so... this is still a thing. I guess there ar enough men who want that kinda stuff.
makes me wonder how long it would take to extinct humanity by giving every guy a fembot that is exactly as he wishes: doesnt talk back, allways sexy and pandering to his every visual and sexual fantasy.

**reads the original Wired article**

Gods, the "female Soldier" is even worse. She's got a midriffter with cleavage. Because the two things you don't want to defend in combat are your chest and abdomen.

**head desk**

**sigh**

This article is not painting Russian or Chinese gamers in a particularly good light. Here's hoping that one "regional adjustment" for the USA and Europe is women in reasonable combat attire.

I'm not sure what bothers me more, the almost really cool female sniper being ruined by stupid cleavage window (honestly I think the female rifleman is mostly OK. Its sexual and stylized but not to the point of absurdity), or how boring, generic and semi-identical the male models are.
QFT. I've sat there staring at those two guys and they're basically just the same model in different jackets. At least the two female characters look different; it's part of the recognisability thing I mentioned earlier.

Also, I've figured out who the Sniper reminds me of: Sweet Pea from Sucker Punch. (Which may be most of everything that needs to be said, of course.)

all I see when I read this is: "Hey, everyone! Look at the brand new defense we've created for when we're accused of being sexist!! Isn't it grand?"

in all seriousness, in a combat zone, you'd want them flapping around as little as possible
In all seriousness, in a combat zone, you wouldn't want female soldiers.
They're less effective overall and tend to be tactical liabilities as any male soldier has been socially conditioned since early childhood to protect women at any cost.
So if your argument against the female soldier's looks is realism and practicality, then by that logic, they shouldn't be in the game at all.

Yes, because as a female I would GLADLY give up the safety of been fully covered in protective gear to make sure the enemy has a nice view of my tits when pointing their laser sight at them while aiming for my unprotected heart. Or, gotta show off that dem arms and midriff, right boys?~

Cultural Relativism my ass. If they're going to make the male counterpart more realistic then why not female too? Consistency people, consistency.

Weapons having different recoil levels in different regions makes no damn sense either.
whats sad is if they had just made the men look like nathan drake lookalikes it would be more consistant and we wouldnt have this kind of dredge in the news feed right now. lol or reasons to expend energy stating the obvious.:)
