Yeah it definitely piqued my interest. Even the background enemies have outstanding animation quality. This scene really stood out to me, where the infected are running around in the flare light. It literally looked like something out of a movie.Man, check the state of play footage. That animation quality looks surreal. This is the most realistic depiction of violence I have ever seen in a game. If any game ever earned it's 18+ rating it's this one. Footage looks simply incredible. The production values are in the stratosphere.
See Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, Crysis 3, and Turok (in general). 2013 seemed to be the year of the bow and arrow. I swear The Hunger Games had a big influence on all media that year.I see the bow is still OP as fuck.
You’re talking about this game like you’ve already played it. Why not just reserve criticism until then? The trailer even mentions that you’ll have to play the game to see the new infected for yourselves. That State of Play really didn't have a lot of fungus zombies in it. They highlighted a couple little bits, but the vast majority of what they showed was fighting human bad guys.
I don't like that.
While humans were a part of the first game, the big major threat looming over everything was the infected. The whole plot is driven forward by it, by the potential for a cure.
Now it looks like the infection is taking a backseat to dramatic bullshit.
Why would there be a religious group rising to such power when the first game made zero mention of such beliefs being a thing anymore?
I get you wanna harp on the cycle of revenge and how it never ends or whatever but really.....why and how?
First off, I can understand this Abby character wants revenge on Joel for killing daddy. But Abby number 1, wasn't there and has no idea who Joel is or what he looks like let alone what he would look like years later, and 2 also has no way of knowing Joel even killed her Dad because Joel killed like everyone in that hospital and the odds of someone seeing Joel and also being about to report/remember what Joel looked like to Abby years after the fact to even pass along that information.
They've had to pull soooooo many strings to keep the original characters in this game that you have to ask yourself....why? It's a world of fungus zombies. You could make an entirely new cast of characters with a wholely original set of problems while utliizing this cult and new locations all to tell a completely original game within universe.
That sounds like they're hiding the new infected. I hope it's because they don't wanna spoil the surprise, and not because they aren't doing much with the infected in general. The trailer even mentions that you’ll have to play the game to see the new infected for yourselves.
So what if we are attached to the original cast? I got attached to Joel in less than twenty minutes in the first game, so they could easily make me attached to a new cast just as quickly. Instead they are risking me actively hating new characters because the characters I already love will outshine any new character they could possibly produce.A entire new cast would’ve been cool, but of course people would identify more with the existing one.
Good that you agree.I agree. Why do they always discuss video games in a video games section of a forum, on a site mainly dedicated to video games? Why not chat about craft beers or bathroom tiles instead? Why the fuck?
Yup, intentionally not showing new enemies does indeed fit the definition of hiding them, good catch! That sounds like they're hiding the new infected.
How do you even enjoy any media, like ever?So what if we are attached to the original cast? I got attached to Joel in less than twenty minutes in the first game, so they could easily make me attached to a new cast just as quickly. It's their thread and that is supposed to mean what exactly?@bluegate Dude, I get it. You have come points, and while @CriticalGaming can worry over nothing too much, it's his thread.
I never said something "better to talk about".Also, you come off as hypocrtical and smug with the "something better to talk about".
Seems that you didn't get it.A lot of people don't have that luxury need and something to cope; especially in these times. I am blessed that I still have my job. Sure, a person should be something else to keep their mind at ease or for varieties sake. I don't see a point in picking an unnecessary fight. If you want talk about someing non-gaming related or make a topic, do it yourself. There are plenty of other forums that do not involve gaming.
You mean I made threads that talk about video games on a video game discussion forum. Key word there, DISCUSSION.CriticalGaming then replied that the only things they could come up with to do is talking about TLoU, ManEater and Minecraft Dungeon, to which I replied they ought to get a hobby
This isn't them trying to not have their game leaked. That should have been done BEFORE it got leaked. Once the cat is out of the bag you can't just tell everybody to forget what they saw, and you cannot ATTACK people's channels for having a discussion.Mind you, I don't care if people talk about the leaks, what I care about is the whining when the developer in question tries to not have their game spoiled before it's even released.
If there is a forum I don't like, then I won't even bother with it. Plain and simple. I do get it and what you're trying to say, I'm just pointing out your flawed logic. If you don't care about this topic, why are you concerned? Why even bother posting and complaining about other people whining? Even what they're whining about is ridiculous? That's all you'll hear from me cuz I don't want to drag @CriticalGaming forum off topic. good day and be blessed. Be good and blessful to others. It's their thread and that is supposed to mean what exactly?
I never said something "better to talk about".
I said that people getting upset about public discourse about the leaks getting shut down at certain places should just find something else to do in the next couple of weeks, wait for the game to release and then discus the game to their hearts' content.

I don't remember much of the infected in tLoU as much as I remember that most of the humans you came across were heavily armed, psychotic dipshits that made me wonder why it was worth trying to save any of these people. Pittsburgh was run by jerk-ass bandits who picked a fight with you and then decided to keep picking a fight with you despite you leaving their territory(because apparently 100 dead comrades just wasn't enough, lets shoot for 150). The people in the snowy area were creepy cannibals. The fireflies were into cutting open peoples brains to find that elusive cure(and apparently without much luck since it's said they've done this a number of times without getting any closer), presumably without asking said people if they wanted to donate their brains to science. That State of Play really didn't have a lot of fungus zombies in it. It's mainly a video demonstrating the gameplay showing lengthy "normal" sequences (basically a dev walkthrough) vs just showing you all the cool stuff in like quick cuts or like the best part in the game like Uncharted 4 at E3 showed by far the best setpiece the game had. Basically, you get a feel for what the moment-to-moment gameplay will be like. State of Play is just the corporate jargon describing it I guess. They just did one for Ghosts of Tsushima a week or so back.Ok, what is 'State Of Play'? Is that the youtube channel, a phrase that is meant to mean something, or just corporate jargon?
A ripoff of Nintendo Direct; Microsoft has one too.just corporate jargon?
Congratulations, that is the main reason why I do not like TLoUs (or Black Lagoon for that matter). It is nothing, but misery porn. Whatever good characters show up either rarely survive, die, turn out be assholes, or leave the plot early enough to not be a big factor. It's why I prefer the Resident Evil series, there are good or at least decent people in that world. TLoUs is the type of universe people like Johan Liebert, Joker, or Vaz would thrive on the pain and misery or get off on the violence.I don't remember much of the infected in tLoU as much as I remember that most of the humans you came across were heavily armed, psychotic dipshits that made me wonder why it was worth trying to save any of these people. The fungus zombies are just kinda there in comparison. They're creepy but its hard to hold much against them because they do the standard "Eat all the humans" thing because that what zombies do. As with most notable zombie fiction, the humans are the real danger, either through malice, selfishness or (occasionally) stupidity.
I guess it’s easy to see where Druckmann gets the whole “We don’t use the word ‘fun’“. Yeah, it’s a stark contrast to Uncharted. Even the friendly characters had no levity or humor about them, and the only joke in the game seemed to be about a porn mag.A ripoff of Nintendo Direct; Microsoft has one too.
