Not sanitary, huh? It's definitely uncomfortable and I can't stand doing it, but that other comment is very odd. Why do you switch your socks before bed, and not just wear the same ones? You must burn through socks like crazy.

I always wear socks to bed. I don't even switch beforehand though, I just use the same ones.

Unsanitary? Maybe, but I don't really care. :p

I find bare feet to be somewhat sexy in bed; white socks on a naked man(no matter how handsome/sexy) no so much :-/

I don't have a foot fetish mind you lol I just find certain kinds of hands and feet to be good compliments to a good looking guy ;)

I used to, but not anymore.. Except when I'm trying to recover from a cold, and my feet are cold before bed.

Anyhow, I don't have any issues with socks in bed o_O.

nothing wrong with it. Sometimes im too tired to take them off so i just climb into bed. Putting on new ones is weird i guess but...to each his own right?

I also don't see how there can be a sanitation issue either, unless you keep on the old socks and not change them.
and even then it's not that bad sanitary wise.
have none of you guys ever slept in your cloths and wore them for 3 more days?

just shower.

OT: no that's perfectly fine wearing socks while sleeping. Your friend was just taught differently as a child, like me.
but when sleeping over at a friends place I almost always sleep in my clothes.
I just make sure I take a shower on a daily basis.

I usually do it, I can't stand the blankets messing with my feet.
I also don't think it's a sanitary problem, yes, he's germaphobic.

Wearing socks to bed is not something that bothers me personally, but I do know it is 'not done' for many people around these parts. Women especially seem to consider them a turn-off and that goes double if they're white.

While it is true that wearing socks in bed is not very sexy, I still like to wear some during cold nights in winter. Vanity be damned, it sucks waking up because of freezing feet.

Now the reason I'm posting a thread about this is that while I was in Europe touring with a bunch of classmates from highschool, one friend noticed I sleep with socks on. Now, I've been doing this forever, taking off old socks and putting on new ones before I go to sleep, but he seemed to think it was disgusting. Something about not sanitary or something. My response to him was that he was just telling him that he is a germophobic fool.

What do you guys think?

Do you sleep in your socks? Do you think it is a sanitation issue?

I know I certainly think it isn't, especially if you're changing socks before going to bed.
Not sanitary? Does the guy wear boxers to bed? Or pajamas or anything? Because surely wearing the same boxers you've had on all day to bed that same night, and changing them in the morning, is less sanitary than wearing clean socks to bed. And the same for pajamas, unless he changes them every single night.

On topic, no, I don't wear socks to bed myself. But it seems to me like your friend is just a bit of an idiot...

Is it bad that I change my socks like, on average every 5 days?
And I've always slept with socks on unless it's really really hot.
