When I was a teenager and my parents and I moved to live in another city. I remember that when I came to school and entered the classroom, I heard not welcoming words, but "Why did you come here." It was insulting
Is that really so weird? That sounds like a standard first question to ask why you moved there. Weren't they just trying to get to know you a little? Why was that insulting?

I mean, it might be a somewhat standard feeling question, but it also has a mind numbingly boring answer. "Cause my parents moved me here."

My grandfather is visiting for Thanksgiving, and as he's 92 years old, he has a habit of repeating himself a lot and often, i.e.: we heard his life's story 3 times by 8:30am the first morning of his visit on Tuesday. What he did say which I hadn't heard 1,000 times before is that when he proposed divorce to his second wife (Florence, a woman I vaguely remember from my early childhood and never liked,) she pulled a gun on him. He grabbed her wrist, pulled the gun to his temple and said "if you're gonna do it, don't miss." He then continued to regale me with how blessed he has been leading his Christian life, how me and my girlfriend need to get married and that God needs to be at the center of our lives. Love the man to death, but it's been a long week. They leave early tomorrow morning, thank "God."

"You must have good genes" - a ~16 year old girl after finding out I was eight years older than she thought. I thought it a weird comment to make.

I got carded for cigarettes the other day. I'm 41. The lady said she thought I was a baby, and she was shocked to learn she was only 4 years older than me. Direct quote: "please don't take offence, but they aren't lying when they say 'black don't crack.'"

OT: a couple decades ago, I went to legally purchase my first bottle of liquor on my 21st birthday. I got carded, and when I handed my ID to the clerk, he looked at it, read my name, looked at me and said "Panama?" I was shocked. I look black; my first name is Italian, my last name suggests Hispanic, and my father is indeed from Panama. My appearance versus my name have garnered more than enough conversation with people who first meet me, but never has anyone nailed me dead on like that.

A former supervisor and co-worker were basically the same person. And by the same person I mean they were both massive conspiracy crackheads. I found most of the shit that came out of their mouths morbidly fascinating. Over the course of a year and a half they told me:

- I didn't have to pay taxes
- The easiest way to bleed someone out, because one was 'from the jungle' and knew these things. I later found out they were born in the city and moved to my city when they were like 4.
- I NEEDED to try acid
- Despite being drug addicts, they believed in MK Ultra style drug indoctrination
- To come inside whenever a plane went overhead because they believed in the cemtrails conspiracy
- The police had no power over me and one swore up and down he could walk into a police station and do whatever he wanted because of fReEdOmS he was entitled to and could drive as fast as he wanted for the same reason (despited the fact he rode a bike everywhere)
- They both tried to disprove the Big Bang with hour long YouTube videos from channels with 10 subs
- They both claimed the MH80 flight never went down with hour long YouTube videos from channels with 10 subs
- They both claimed religion was invented 200 years ago with hour long YouTube videos from channels with 10 subs
- One spent a whole working day trying to describe the 'Matrix' he had built within himself
- The other was absolute giddy about some asteroid that was suppose to past or hit Earth and took that whole week off. When I (stupidly) asked his about why it never happened he tried to show me and hour long YouTube video from a channel with 10 subs
- The Pyramids and Stonehenge weren't built by aliens, but the technology used to built them were destroyed by aliens who didn't want us to advance too fast
- Couldn't confirm it, but pretty sure they were flat earthers from some of the things they mentioned. I.e scoffing when people talked about overseas holidays.

That's just the ones I remember after thinking about it too hard. I'll add some more if I can recall or get them out of someone I used to work with. Absolutely bizarre people.

For rabbits, you hang them by their hind legs and cut their throat (according to old army survival films), imagine it'd be the same for people. Especially furries.

That's less annoying than claiming they were built by aliens, so there's that.

Sometimes, I wish I lived in the same world as conspiracy theorists/those who know better than those educated in fields they know nothing about save for rhetorical ranting based off of ignorant beliefs. Must feel amazing to awake each morning to a world only *I* recognize for what it is, to be one of those special people with special needs...

So apparently either one or both of these guys are afraid to watch The Purge: Election Year, and the rest of the movies, because they're afraid it will "attack" or challenge their political beliefs. Tough luck there dudes. You're always going to have something challenge your beliefs at some point, regardless if you like it or not. Unless you're in support of The Purge (you both are clearly not), or follow the crazy right wing propaganda/Trumpism MAGA bullshit. What the hell were you expecting? These movies are always going to be political. They're allowed to make their choice, but it's something like that scares you, good luck watching anything else.

Have wondered that too. Just sorta vanished. See also Agema, SupahEwok, lil devil x, ObsidianJones and a bunch of other old regulars. I like to think they just lost interest in posting here anymore.
Agema last was here in August, that's not too long ago_ObsidianJones in July (and IIRC, they have at times said they were taking time away from social media, which I can well understand)

lil devil x was last seen, IIRC, when covid was really starting to hit, and said they worked in healthcare and their immune system wasn't great. One possibility for why they aren't around anymore immediately comes to mind. :(

Just stood out to me because up until then they were still quite active or dropped in regularly.

Yes, that has crossed my mind too.

Huh, hadn't realized that Agema hasn't been around in a while. That's too bad. SupahEwok's still okay, at least as of sometime in June, I saw him commenting on Shamus Young's site on the death announcement post.

"That is sexy as fuck" a very intoxicated young woman said to me at the bar last night. I was leaning on a post smoking a cigarette, and she just blurted it out. Her friend (slightly less intoxicated) tried to quiet her down, but not before the first girl explained that she loves watching men smoke. Well, she was in luck, because there was a patio FULL of men smoking; by her standards, her panties should have been soaked. I know smoking is a massive turn off for a lot of people, understandably so, but for it to be a turn on? That's fucking weird.

Eh, used to be cool in old movies. I think it's still an extant fetish, you have people collecting pic of famous people smoking and stuff cause reasons.
