I've been mistaken for the kind of guy that would shive you in a dark alley way. I'm an incrediably nice guy and would never do that.

as a comic fan it's generally assumed that I'm an extreme liberal.

... which makes sense?
Depends indie or the big two hairy balls of libertairianism (Marvel & DC)?
It's actually a pretty healthy mix of both, but taste never seems to factor into the assumption for some reason

It was 1997. I was in the 10th grade, Mr Doyle's biology class. I went up to his desk to collect a graded assignment with my profile/side facing the class.

This girl, Lisa Mcsomethingorother, she giggled and asked loudly, "Do you have a boner?" Pointing at my crotch.

I looked over at her and smiled, "No, but thanks for the compliment."

I'll never forget the frown and the way Mr. Doyle shook his head when I looked back.

People assume I am bookish to some kind of weaponised level. Simply because I actually READ the books I have to for my literature degree suddenly:
I know every book and every author who ever wrote.
I do nothing but read books.
I have no friends since, obviously, I have no time due to reading books.
If I am caught with a book people who come across me roll their eyes or whip the book out of my hands like I am handling radioactive material.

There are worse things to be thought of, obviously, but it would be nice if people acknowledged I have other interests beyond dusty books, despite what they may have heard....

People often assume that I'm a rather shady character.

Although I'm quite the opposite.

I have been called gay twice, by complete strangers while taking a walk.

That I am good looking. Seriously, when I have long hair I look like the Dude. When short, I look like that douche from Prisonbreak.

Lets see... most people I know think I have no emotions and that I hate everyone.

That's completely untrue. I just keep a stone face most of the time unless I have a extremely strong emotion, then I go overboard. Again, the stone face gives people the impression that I'm bored and don't like them.

I've been asked if I am a butch lesbian before, in front of friends.
That surprised me, because I didn't know this person... But now most of my best friends call me butch XD

One time, my leash from my body board wasn't secured so I fell off completely into the ice cold water. A diver however, was unfortunately nearby and called to his friend that an "otter" was nearby and to get the camera. The guy took the picture of me.
That made me lol SO hard. That is seriously weird.

It was weird that a DJ once assumed I was gay because of my shirt choice. It was even weirder that he then made the assumption that I must not be gay because I then requested the Prodigy and Chemical Brothers.

Therefore gay people must wear particular styles of shirts and have a hatred towards cult dance groups.

I get a lot people who think I look about 12, those people tend to end up with a black eye.

Also it was once assumed that I was in the mafia, I have no idea where that sprouted up from, but people still thought I was, I tell you some people have wild and slightly dumb imaginations.

When I traveled from Cairns to the Gold Coast to live, I was put into my new school in grade 5 during Easter and the first kid that talked to me when I was in the classrom asked: "What did I do to get expelled". Later on people then made the assumption that I was gay and would avoid me like the plague and the fact that I misunderstood them running away from me as playing a game of tag, probably made it worse.

P.S. I was also assumed to be a drug dealer along with my brother when I went into a night club.

That I'm gay. Whats more dissapointing about that, was that the first time someone said this, I was 11. And it was my gran.
Yes, apparently, because I've yet to have a girlfriend, that I rarely talk about my taste in women to my friends, it means I'm gay. Also, the fact that I find it difficult to talk to girls, since I'm pretty nervous around them.
And apparently liking redheads makes me gay too. I can't win, can I?
(although I haven't heard any of the above for a while now, so I think its passed.)

Edit -I just remembered, going through some old texts, that someone thought I was gay, and started hitting on me. He was dissapointed when I told him I'm not gay, and then said he was going to have words with the people who'd informed him that I was...

That I'm insanley strong and good at weight lifting, because of my size. Sadly, not. I wish it was muscle, but no, its not. Good leg strenth. (Well, thats changed a bit, my arm strenght has improved drastically since I started airsofting with a 7lb rifle)

That I am some sort of technical genius. I use big words in conversation, and know a fair bit about various machines - but that doesn't mean I know how to work/fix them.

I'm not trusted with knifes anymore, but that's probably for the best.

It's also assumed I like math, just because I'm in advanced. I only agreed to take it because since I'm taking a high school class now, when I get to high school I'll only have to take a few more years of it, leaving me with a math free year.

Oddly on these forum I'm trolling or insulting, when I'm being joking and sarcastic.

For a "humor" site, lot of tight ass elitist who freak the hell out if someone tells a little joke...

Amazed Zero Punc is even on here at times...think it would give some of these people heart attacks.
