I fear dying alone and uninteresting, just another carbon blob on the face of this indifferent blue marble, unloved and unmissed...

and Smurfs

Honestly, I'm afraid of cows, and swimming in water with fish in it. I love to fish, but I can't be in water with fish in it. The fish in Lake Erie are ballsy man.

Whoa whoa whoa, wait. There are FISH in Lake Erie? I thought they'd all died or become mutants by now. I'm always afraid I'll inhale some weird chemical that'll give me cancer later on when I drive into Cedar Point... j/k, a little. The Maumee River's much, much worse...
Rocks float in the Maumee River. I've seen it happen. Dead serious.

I also don't believe I've ever seen a living fish in lake Erie. That might be because I live right next to a Nuclear Power plant...
Dude, I went on the Sandpiper (a ferry on the Maumee) and we hit a washer right near the docks. Yes, as in a household washer.

As far as spiders go, I'm not afraid of them. I used to be until I worked at a Boy Scout Camp for a couple of summers. I'd sit down and have a Daddy-Long-Leg crawling up my leg instantaneously. I'll admit that they're creepy little jumpers, but I'm perfectly capable of just smashing one or putting it on a piece of paper to dump outside. I had a giant spider on the wall of my cabin once. I didn't point it out to the kids, I just went and got our animal handler and he scooped it off my wall, lol. The kids got to see it later when they were at his station. I never did find out what kind it was....

Spiders are cool.
Heck, most arachnids are cool.
Crabs (been watching too much deadliest catch), daddy long legs, spiders...

If you want scary fish, watch one of those planet earth episodes on deep sea fish.
I think they're awesome, but for some reason people are afraid of fish that have teeth bigger then the rest of their body.

The people at the cinema who roared with laughter at the "Kung-Fu Panda" trailer the other night.

What is it with people being afraid of small, harmless animals and children's entertainment?

"I'm terrified of guppies and Barbie dolls."

For some reason, cannibalism. Zombies aren't considered human and don't count.

Heights. I got in an airplane crash and had to fly 3000 miles in anther airplane the next day. I was scared every time the plane ran into turbulence.

Also the smell of gasoline. The airplane was leaking gasoline and I was terrified it was going to explode.

And tigers. We crashed about twenty yards away from a tiger cage.

That was a traumatic day.

Wasps. I'm extremely terrified of wasps. Even thinking one might be around causes a deeply-rooted instinctual urge to shy away and flee.

The wife is deeply terribly afraid of...
Spiders
Insects that crawl
Dogs
Aliens
Being abandoned
"Complete and total emptiness"
Loud noises
Complete silence
The hedgehog choking
And death of pets in general (She still gets the shivers if someone reminds her of her gerbil, who's been dead for a full decade now)
And to a lesser degree: Odd numbers
Lesser degree: The number 13
Darkness
The worms from "Tremors"
Being at a height without guard rails
Being locked in a room without being able to get out
Inbred hillbilly freaks ala "The Hills Have Eyes" or "Wrong Turn"
To a lesser degree: Driving
