There was this world, which we kids used to call "The outside".
We used to play there and have fun, but now it's forgotten.
THIS

When i grew up, playing in the park (football - not the american kind) was what kids under 15 did after school.

I didn't really get the internet until my freshman year of high school. Most of the time I was playing video games: Started with SNES and Sega Genesis, got an N64 for X-Mas when it came out, and a lot of my dad's PS2 when I moved in with him.

Hell, I didn't even get a regular XBox until after the 360 came out.

Very silimar to what you did OP. In my case though I read less books and explored outside. When I was at that age I grow up non working farms. I would explore it. I moved around enough so I never fully explored/ got bored of the area I was in. I only moved to the city in late 2001/ early 2002. As we planned to stop moving around we thought it would be worth the money to get internet installed. It been a major part in my life from then.

I did have crappy internet in the one house that was in a town. It was crappy and I never was allowed to use it much. So I stayed with my nintendo.
ha I grew up on a farm too

though I wasnt really an outdoors kind of kid strangley enough, I did go outside form time to time though

So do you remember a time in your life when you didnt have access to the internet? has the internet changed your life at all?

in my case because of my age (born in 1991) I do vaugley remeber a time without it however really its been a big part of my life, ive pretty much grown up with it ,I mean I didnt really use it much when I was younger I watched alot of TV had my N64 and books I supose

but now as an adult its one of the nessecities alongside Energy drinks and air, Plus I dont even watch TV, in fact it baffles me how TV can compete with the internet (considering even the crappy state of foxtel/pay TV in Australia, in fact why would you bother? free tv is getting better I supose)

anyway Im quite facinated by this internet/technology thing, how its become a huge thing in such little time
Basically, before I had internet, I read books. Lots and lots of books. I had (and still do) stacks upon stacks of books that I'd read through over and over again.

Oh, life before the internet, what a blast.
I'm a programmer, always have been, but back before high-speed I didn't even have a computer, so basically my life before the internet consisted of me writing code in my school notebooks, in the margins of my tests, homework, on my arm, hand, or any other random place that ink stuck to. I still have notebooks filled with early code. I was fluent in four or five languages before I ever touched a computer. I guess I did things a little backwards but I'm okay with that I guess.

I had LEGO's, SEGA Genesis, N64, SWAT Kats, Game Boy, school, and a big backyard.

I was born in 1987, and I didn't really get too heavy into the Internet until DSL was becoming popular. I do remember dial-up, though. Those were some crazy times, I tell ya.

TV and books, mostly. Watching people play videogames. Buying walkthroughs in book form.

I played outside a lot too, always rushing towards the swing set.

Back when I first discovered internet, I didn't know about forums so I liked searched for random stuff that interested me so I wouldn't even be on all that long.

I used to read, actual books. Was the time I'd read Dante and Homer, the time I loved the Greek and Italian epic poems. Now, I read this site and ignore reading Dante for homework. Ah, how the world works...

I took adventures into the outside world, climbed the tallest of trees, swam the deepest of swimming pools, rode my bike down the longest of roads, ran away from the cutest of girls (because I was the shyest of kids back then) and I watched TV at what I consider its prime.
