What do you hate about your country?

-Priests here needs to have every say in every law passed. No surprise there, for the fact that we are the only Christian country in the whole South East Asia.

-The justice system sucks, cases tend to go cold/forgotten over time and even then the criminal might escape justice even though it has strong evidence against him. (Example: Maguindanao Massacre)

-TV shows here uses the same cliches over and over again.

-Most Dangerous country for journalists in the world. (2nd being Iraq, how did that happen?)

-The women here are most of the time stereotyped as maids in other countries.

-Oh yeah majority of the politicians here are corrupt, 85% to exact.

-Our army leaders plunder the allocated money for the soldiers to themselves.

-Most of us see the Americans as gods, I'm not one of them.

I could go on all a day, but the reply box will not contain it all.

So what country this is? It's the crappiest/most corrupt/stay away from it country in the whole South-East Asia. The Philippines.

It still boggles me why you guys wanted to live here. Oh yeah I forgot, you came for the exotic women.

You know once I finish college, I'll get a job in other countries not just in this shithole, I don't have a future here.

Being Canadian it is how we are pushovers when it comes to defending our interests. We have this internet cap crap going on. Plus we do not have a military, war is bad but for some people it is not the size of your personality and offers but the size of your guns that prevents them fom making you their enemy. Anyway, I hate the way that the rest of the world visualizes us (Australia) and that we give them reason for doing so.

How so? If you are talking about the crocodile hunter's accent then I think it is one of the top 3 most badass voices alongside the Terminator and Lemmy Killmister.

I hate the arrogant, obnoxious and disgusting gall of our leaders as a collective whole who act as if the earth is planet America and every other country that exists is some how bound to do what this country's leaders demand.

I really wish our allies like UK, Germany, Japan, and the rest would grow a spine and call our leadership out like Hugo Chavez has. Not that I have any love for Hugo, but he IS right and respectably has the balls to say so and stand by those words. Unlike our allies who routinely do call us out, but then retract everything an hour later because they are USA ass kissing suck-ups who don't want to piss off the egotistical power & control hungry donkey c--ks that are our leadership.

I don't really care about their unfulfilled promises and scheming and stuff, that's always going to happen and it's just part of the business, but it's the buzzwords that bother me. Kevin07 and Julia Gillard seem to really pile on the pointless back slapping "Australian" political speech fluff. Gillard vs QLD Premier Anna Bligh in regards to the recent QLD flooding really makes this sort of thing stand out. Even moreso on the world stage. It's pretty hard to take our recent Prime Ministers seriously.

Other than that, it's not really that bad. It has the most of the same problems as America in a different form, but nothing special.

Naww, not like that. I actually think he's pretty cool, and a lot of people I know have a similar accent. What kind of gets me is that while most countries have bogans/hicks/hillbillies and so on, the rest of the world, or, to be more accurate, Americans, seem to see us solely of a nation of them. Even in New York, when someone finds out I'm Australian, I'm inevitably subjected to a bad impression, and a bunch of stupid questions. I don't have anything against bogan culture in itself - many of my friends are a part of it - but it's more that that's the way that the rest of the world sees us, thanks in large part to the lack of projection in the media of the rest of our culture.

Also, that we can pay twice what Americans might for a game, yet have the value of our dollar be pretty much the same.
