I tend to change mine quite regularly to either stuff found on the web or home made bits and pieces.
This is mine, I put it together yesterday, the character images are not my work they were found on deviantart, I just did some minor editing and placement.

I got this one from 4chan, and if I remember right, he said was taken by a Stalker LARPer.
I was just in one of these threads on 4chan, and I love how everyone here gives a bit of an explanation.
Well mine's usually an animated Matrix code, but recently I changed it to this picture of a Stargate in the snow:

The anime is called Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). Although a lot of the time you see the protagonist playing chess and he'll talk in terms of chess (sometimes) it's not about that at all. Set in Victorian England, it focuses around a 13 year old boy called Ciel Phantomhive (my avatar is him). Who suffered the loss of his family and their business. He makes a pact with a demon who then becomes his demon and does his bidding, and fufils Ciels wishes as they fight crime on behalf of the queen.Trivun said:What anime is that from? If you are wondering what it is it is just a wallpaper of a creature in the Guild Wars universe. That particular race is called The Charr. They are somewhat like Humanoid large cats.
Currently it's black with some white wording in the corner saying "This copy of windows is not genuine"

Either flat black if I'm feeling boring or something with a bit of a pattern somewhere (still also dark) that doesn't make it harder to read anything that's on my desktop.
I'm not a fan of bright, lively backdrops that make finding things placed on the desktop hard to find.
