hmm, the first console game I remember is alex kidd in miracle world (or w'eva it's called)
but that didn't really get me into gaming,
probably when my friend rented a mega drive with Sonic 2 & Aladdin (Aladdin more so)
From there I eventually got a mega drive and got into gaming.

For PC games, the first real game I got into would have been command & conquer

Ratchet and Clank. Never finished it though :D
Thinking of the fun me and my friends had with that game makes me just a little emotional.

For me it was when my brother got a gaming computer back in the days of the dell XPSs. I played a bunch of games on it from Crysis and Mass Effect to The Void and CnC 3, and I started following gaming to see what other games there are and when new ones were coming out. No one game got me into gaming.

2 games in 2 completely different eras got me into gaming. The first was Donkey Kong Country, me and my mother played the hell out of those, but it was Final Fantasy 8 that turned me into a full time all of the time hard core gamer.

Legend of Zelda OoT. I didn't really think about it at the time, but I just explored everything on there and had a shitload of fun.

Mine was the original Half Life, played earlier games on the Atari ST eg. street fighter 2 and Cannon Fodder. But wasn't till Half Life that I really started playing games :)

Me and my brother had a pretty unorthodox start to gaming. When our parents a Time PC (back in 2000 / 01), it came with a variety of programs, and four games: A Lara Croft, SuperBike World Championships 2000, VR Sprots Powerboat Racing and Recoil.

Of these, it was the last two that truly got us into gaming, with us regularly playing split-screen races in Powerboats, or blowing up tanks in Recoil. Eventually, my brother bought some other games (and eventually got Steam, then so did I) and we're now at the present day. My brother has, on steam alone, over 250 games, while I have a lesser 31.

Well the first game I remember playing was one of the Sonic The Hedgehog games on Sega Mega Drive, was most probably the first one.
I still play the old Sega Megadrive Sonic games on my 360 so it'll be them.

When I was 6 I was going on Holiday to Malta. My gran bought be an original Gameboy with Tetris and a couple of other games to keep me quiet on the plane journeys. Bless her.

There were many games that I loved as a kid but the one that made me a gamer was Fallout 3. There was just so much I enjoyed about that game and it's still in my top 3.

when i was 4 i played Pong on my grandparents TV and that was my videogame cherry getting popped. The real desire to play games came from this platform game called "donkey kong" bout a year later.
Im 32 now.
