Though I made it very clear in the other thread that I don't like anime, at the time I did my favorite was Gundam Wing.
What... the... hell?! Man, Nunally's gonna be pissed! But seriously, that's just trying to shock a dead horse back to life... one that's already died with a shitload more dignity than is otherwise normal for an anime series.Alistair Leyden said:excactlly the ending was percect however apperantly if they do bring it back they're also bringing back lelouche apparently there's a secret ending where he's still alie cuz he killed his dad so he gets him immortal life
... really have to get round to watching that... 11 eps, isn't it?UncleUlty said:3 Usagi Drop, more recent yes but everything about it is so heartwarming and adorable that I can't help but love it.
I will forever be confused as to why people think that series is so damned good... ah well...Madara XIII said:[HEADING=1]Gurren Lagann[/HEADING]
A part of me really want to mention that, but the graphix make me wince each time I start watching it... but then I watch the character interaction, damned good set pieces and a brilliant plot, and ignore that aforementioned aspect.INeedAName said:Last Exile
I'm somewhat surprised I wasn't the first to say it.Sparkimus Prime said:Yu Yu Hakusho. It was interesting and kept its pace well across 112 episodes. I've gone through the series 3-4 times, and I'd do it again with no problem.
If it's any consolation I wasn't influenced by anyone to watch that anime. I was just flipping through the channels and saw it on Sci-Fy. I got interested immediately and watched the series on a weekly basis.SckizoBoy said:I will forever be confused as to why people think that series is so damned good... ah well...Madara XIII said:[HEADING=1]Gurren Lagann[/HEADING]
DBZ has to be one of the worst animes ever made. Great story and characters, but it was so, so, so God damn drawn out.xXAsherahXx said:Dragon Ball and Dragonball Z...isn't that the correct answer for the whole thread's question? I'm pretty sure it is.
I watched it without paying much attention to the hype as well, and I was rather disappointed by it, but not for the reasons one might expect. I, too, was quite taken with the ending, though I felt the ever expanding mechas got entirely out of hand (I know for some, that was pure 'win'). No, my criticisms are more to do with the iconography of the series, namely the 'spiral' concept, which I felt the producers could've expanded upon and exploited so much more. Throughout the series, it was a cross between of occasional references or in your face 'here's a spiral, bask in its spiraliness' that I felt it was dealt with rather hamfistedly. Even with the visual aspect of conveying it, they missed an opportunity, since the 'drill' thing seemed rather goofy (granted, it may well have been played for that reason), if unique.Madara XIII said:If it's any consolation I wasn't influenced by anyone to watch that anime. I mean if you watched it and still didn't get the hype then I don't really mind. We all have our preferences, but the ending sold me. There was so much happening at once where it wasn't too hard to follow and every character was well established to the point at which their deaths had some weight to them.
That was my view on it, but I also did Admire Rurouni Kenshi as one of the greatest as well. The ending was pure and potent and plus I hear they're doing a new one
