Does 2004 count as old? If so, then I pick Evil Genius.
Also, Medieval II: Total War is always good for a laugh when you start to infiltrate the College of Cardinals (one time, out of 14 seats in the College, 7 were unoccupied, 4 were Polish (mine) and the other 3 were Sicilian who had been excommunicated xD).

Any old sidscrolling Mario makes its way onto my list, as well as any N64 game developed by Rare or Ninty themselves

Unreal tournament 2004 holds a special place in my heart, as do the KoToR games.

Also FFVI>Any other game in the franchise.

Tetris. Most definitely Tetris.
I'm not a Tetris player, but I'd venture a guess that the new versions of Tetris beat the old ones. Better presentation, better controls, more variety, more challenge, etc. I was never interested in the Tetris games of yore, but watching Arika's arcade Tetris renditions makes me want to play.

No; I prefer the simplicity of the original by far. The newer versions just seem to miss what made the original so much fun. Now, it may just be nostalgia talking, but that's my opinion.

DOOM, also Doom 2. Anything else I could think of is probably already up on here.

The amount of old games that are still considered today, to be gaming milestones, and classics, would boggle your mind.

Super Mario Bros. 3. I don't think they've done a Mario game as good as that one since. Nothing beats the Hammer Bros. suit.
Oh that suit... gotta love it. I would say that, and Super Mario World.

I only disagree with Super Mario, that plummer a**hole has to go.
What? You mean you never loved any of those SNES Mario games? ...whyyyy?

I'm a big believer in gameplay over graphics. I still love Mario Kart on the SNES as well as Chrono Trigger, as someone else already mentioned. I thought Second Sight for the PS2 was an overlooked gem of a game that is still awesome, even by today's standards. I also still have a soft spot for Commandos:Men of Courage. Tough as tits it was.

Spyro the dragon, Crash bandicoot, Knights of the old republic, TES Morrowind, Heroes of might and magic not including anything after 3, Command and conquer games while it was still owned by westwood, Starcraft. I still play most of those games there so good.
