Did you know about this ? (Was just recently released)

Yes I know about that, but I was thinking about something more extensive than just a patch, even if it is a big one. I'm talking genuine remakes.

Games that need a remake
1.) The Legend of Dragoon
2.) Heroes of Might and Magic 3
3.) Wing commander
4.) Hexen
5.) Rocket Knight Adventures (remake not reboot)
6.) Zombies ate my neighbors

Games with current remakes that sparked life into an old game (why its a good idea)
1.) Dota 2
2.) Sonic Adventure
3.) LoZ LTTP

A new megaman game or remake would be nice too but that one is just a dream, it will never come true =(.

A third Vectorman [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vectorman#Canceled_Third_Game] was planned, but got cancelled, possibly due to criticisms of it being turned into a bland 3rd person shooter.

Altered Beast [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altered_Beast_(2005_video_game)] had a remake for PS2 in 2005, but was only released in Japan and Europe. Never played it, but supposedly it is quite 'meh'. To be honest, the original game wasn't all that great either. It's popularity hinges a lot on nostalgia, due to it being the first (16-bit) game for many.

Golden Axe [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Axe:_Beast_Rider] also got a remake in 2008 and it is decidedly terrible.

PS: sorry for double post.

Daggerfall (HD version)
Yes and yes.

Also Battlezone1&2
(or even better- make sequel)
But it will be cold day in hell before they'll remake it :(
(Activision doesn't own the name anymore)

Hey, Activision, crazy idea, why not instead of cloning CoD, make notBattlezone?
You know, release sequel or originals with different name? Few potential names (free of charge): Combatzone, Warzone, Battlefront, Warfront, Combatfront, Total Conflict.
Not owning a name isn't reason to ditch this awesome setting and gameplay.

Deus Ex
Both System Shocks
The first two Thiefs

First of all, a juicy visual update with a nice aesthetic style add some good voicework and a memorable soundtrack and we're golden. Then some reworked mechanics similar to how the new XCOM did it: keep everything mostly the same, but trim all the fat. Streamline or outright remove the clunky or superfluous stuff.

I'd also remake Deus Ex: Invisible War and Thief: Deadly Shadows as better, more expansive games i.e. more in line with their predecessors.
This. Although I'd like to see thief 4 out first, or a System Shock 3.

I can't think of any games that I want a full remake of, but in terms of and HD reskin, (and because Halloween is just around the corner) I want to see The Suffering games HD-ified.

I'd like to see a Black Mesa-esque Thief remake (the original two games, not Deadly Shadows)

*The original Deus Ex could probably use one. I've always been able to bear the graphics, but if it could get more people willing to play a classic like Deus Ex, I'm all in.
This.
Also it would be nice to see them touch up the visuals and character design more to better link it aesthetically to Human Revolution. Mainly with the mechanically augmented people.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Just update the graphics, nothing else needs to be retouched. Or remake it for Android.

Adventure Island. Because few things are more awesome than a short tubby guy in a leaf skirt riding a skateboard or a dino.

Was about to mention Tomb Raider, before facepalming.

Secret of Mana. Only a few years ago did I finally learn that it was originally designed for a CD-using expansion of SNES software that was later scrapped, and thus it had to drop about 1/4 of the original content. This explains why 3 of the 8 palaces are so short and cruddy and the massive difficulty spike in the Pure Land among other endgame content that didn't feel quite finished. I still love the game, but it could have been so much better and more complete.

All of that restored to the game along with rebalanced difficulty/combat (spamming magic beats almost all the bosses except the Boreal Face and Aegagropilon) and better hit detection would be divine. In general I'd just really like to see another overhead Zelda-style multiplayer game where dodging attacks and using the right weapon is actually important.

Zapper: One Wicked Cricket! (Combining the major release with the handheld version)
Zero Wing (set in 3D)
Earthworm Jim (1 and 2 both based on the Sega Genesis versions with all the add-ons)
Sonic Adventure (1 and 2 with enhanced graphics and a polished engine)
Army Men: Sarge's Heroes (1 and 2)
Doom (and Doom II)
Banjo-Kazooie (and Banjo-Tooie)
Frogger (and Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge)

I want Final Fantasy 7 & up to be remade to look more like Final Fantasy 1-6.

Forget the graphics & the voice actors & focus on the gameplay & fun.

Also this, but with pretty much the same cartoony design:

I'm not sure if remaking old games is a good use of development resources. Yeah, you can end up with decent results, sometimes, but if you're going remake an old work, you should be Doing It For The Art, not for the money.
