I get that many things seem to be going wrong. However, after peeking at your profile, I think you should be quite content. You live in a veritable golden age compared to centuries past. You get to eat food everyday that Marie Antoinette would die for, wear clothes of such fine weave and make that would dull the splendor of King Solomon's garments. I can only assume you also live in a relatively stable house, do not sleep with your livestock, and will probably not die before the age of 20.

Just compare the worst thing that's likely to happen to you today to the challenges medieval child of the same age would face. It is highly unlikely that anyone will impale you on a pike, torture you because your parents adhere to a different doctrine. You're not going to die from the common cold, or starve to death.

That show pissed me right off. As a kid, I'd always wonder why an Aardvark (yes, that is what arthur is supposed to be) is bigger than a puppy (as it happens, it only comes up to his ankle). Lots of other things annoyed me about the show, but that was the one that sticks for some reason.

Well think of it this way: your going to die someday, we all are. Once you die your not on earth any longer, therefore you will not have to deal with it. However you will also not be able to enjoy the good parts, so it's logical to enjoy what you can while you can.

Not only this, but think of the time in which you were born. Your life is drastically better than that of billions in the past and millions currently. Technology is advancing rapidly, entertainment is all about and freedom of speech is still prevalent in North America at the very least. The span of your life will be potentially one of the best times to live ever, as far as we know. Complaining gets you nowhere, have a little fun.

people are spending so much more than they can afford, because people's kids are spoiled, and dont want to have to work for anything, and they have their parents wrapped around their finger, huge shock for them when the family goes broke and ends up in a homeless shelter..from personal experience..that is not fun. so let them find out the hard way..i had to and now i'm doing alright for myself because of it.

also, as for this generation living shorter, i kinda saw that coming. i can't see myself getting old...30's or 40's maybe ((keep in mind i'm 20)) i mean, lets face it, i grew up in a house where my dad smoked not only cigs and cigars, and a pipe, but also weed..from age 2 i was inhaling that stuff already. most households are like that now, especially with divorced parents ((or at least from what i've seen))
i plan on getting as much as i can out of my life before i die. i'd like to have children someday, but not so sure about it in a world like this right now. i spend as much time with my friends and family as i can, talk about important things, talk about nothing, i listen to music, i write music, i play music, i play video games with friends and random people. i make new friends, and just keep on going. you just have to focus on the little things, not the big picture.
like you said OP, this gen. is gunna live a shorter life, so i say..fuck it. do what's important to you. make the best out of what you have. you could get shot in the head tomorrow, and die in an alley. you could live to be 97 years old and die in a warm bed surrounded by loved ones. you neve rknow. just start living. have no regrets about what you do. in a recent post i made...the motto i live by, from personal experience..is:

"Never Regret Your Scars."

Move to New Zealand.

-There is no substantial evidence that the world will end in 2012, from what I've heard there are no other ancient civilizations that say anything that substantial when it comes to 2012. Secondly, even the Mayans don't have anything to say, their calender just stops.

-Religious nuts have been ignored for hundreds of years, what's stopping you now?

-China is shifting from a communistic economy to a capitalistic, the shift will cause hardships as do all major societal changes.

-Politicians THINK about doing things all the time, more often then not that's as far as it goes. Health care reform anyone? (Thank God for that by the way).

-The days of purely objective media has long past, you have to search and use your intellect to find the station that seems to have your best interests in mind with their news programs and not that of some biased prick.

-Australia is fucked, sorry.

-Considering the massive amounts of risks that one runs when having such a huge event like the Olympics, at least now days, it's amazing that they don't require a two hour background check for every person who buys a ticket.
