It started out as a dirt box, but it quickly became a dirt crater when i decided to explore around.

lol at your warning.

But yeah, my first minecraft home was a giant 64x64 tower, built from sea level all the way to the height limit. It took ages, and I never really got round to filling up all the levels.

Happy days.

I climbed up a ridge that went along the side of a mountain and made a home in the cliff. I then mined down into various cave systems and also dug up to the top of the mountain, where I created a ridiculously tall lighthouse to light my way were I to get lost. Then I realized I couldn't see it any good distance away anyway, but whatever, it was cool.

I've made a bunch of small rooms in a mountain, filled out the walls and floors with wood, actually took me a really long time to do, and I was pretty proud of it... till i accidentally found out about the dangers of the bucket full of lava.

I spent my first 4 nights or so running around and getting killed. I spent my days rebuilding my inventory and trying to find coal. I didn't know you could make charcoal, and I did know mobs spawned in dark places, I didn't know they wouldn't spawn close to you. So I didn't dare to build even a hole.

I have a habit of finding a nice mountain, borrowing inside it, then slowly chipping away at the inside and out like a parasite. My first base I made into a very nice castle in a snow area. I was planning a small deserted town in front of it, but accidentally deleted the file.

I remember that I played on peaceful for a while, so my first home was a floating tower that eventually gained a farm, a forest, a pool, and a fairly large, mostly glass house on top of it.

I found a little chunk of stone (I guess you could call it a very small quarry) dug into the wall and kept going till I hit the other side then put a door on each end and prayed I put enough torches to not hear a hiss behind me. After that I began my ultimate castle

A completely dark niche in the side of a hill that eventually turned into a completely dark tunnel in the side of a hill.

It was some crazy shit out of Tolkien, yo. The only thing I was missing was some hairy feet and a farm.

i found the flattest cliff face, dug into the side, made a small entrance room and then made a spiral staircase into a huge chamber below. pretty sick for a first attempt :)

I more or less made my spawn point my home. Then later built an island castle... I more or less got bored of it soon enough and quit playing. I also was playing the old free version and never paid for the beta. The last company I gave money to for a beta was Microsoft when Vista was released.

My first REAL home was a regular 1 story house, then 4 stories up, each story with a small storage area. About a 50 block long bridge to my bedroom which had glass.

This was my first REAL home, not just a hole.

A hole in the wall, literally. I spawned on the shore with a fairly steep set of hills around me, a small ravine of sorts running partway up. Near the top of the ravine I turned to the vertical face of the hill and dug in. Expanded it quite a lot over the next days. A proper door, a back door added after some creepers decided my front door was a great place to take a smoke break, ladder to the top where I left the trees in place (though I made the other side of the hill as sharp a drop so things couldn't climb onto my roof), ladder down to my mines, a greenhouse/balcony with flowers overlooking the sea, a tunnel downwards at a 45 degree angle so I could get to the shore (where my farm was) in peace, a bridge across the ravine, just outside my door. I remember being amazed that the dirt bridge was slowly populating with grass from the edges in!

My first house was a ceilingless box of dirt with no torches, and only a stove for light. It was on an island at the center of an icesheet. Seeing as this was long before beds, I was teleported back to my spawn upon death. After dying for the first time, I searched desparately for my house, but to no avail. My second house was a huge tower, but I never found the old one, even after nearly a year of searching.

just built into a cliff face next to a lake. I found a small cave and just expanded and refined until it was a cozy little home. Found a cave in the back eventually and started using it as my mine. Wish i still had that house i deleted the world because i am stupid and do that sometimes...

pretty much a space I carved into the side of a mountain, several rooms added but as for an actual structure my first was a basic box shaped house made from sandstone on a foundation of rock
