I know I won't make too many friends with this, but Team Fortress 2. After the first match all the luster and intrigue was gone. I can't imagine people who played the same mission type on the exact same three or fours maps hundreds of times over.
After over 500 hours, I can't make my self play it.

Agreed, after up to 800 hours, and the recent updates, I was done with the game. which is good because now I can catch up with games

that have been sitting in my steam library for the past year.

No matter the fervor over games like League of Legends, I just cant buy into them, and I've tried multiple times. I find the gameplay very slow and the in game community just awful. I watched a friend play a ranked match that was 30 minutes of neither team making any particular gains, and while he kept saying this was a really good match, I just couldn't stay engaged.

Most recently, Binding Of Isaac. After hearing all the adoration for this game, I was excited to get this from PS+. Played it for about two hours, and didn't care for it. I like the story, and wanted to see where it would go, but not enough to trudge through what's mainly a mundane dual-stick shooter. The enemies' design, while creative, didn't fascinate me to the point that I would want to replay the game several times. Looking at poop and hair-lipped beasts got old really fast.

BioShock:infinite - boring, uninteresting narrative on rails shooter, enemies arent creative too many bullet sponge type encounters, save system is consolized

Dishonoured - couldnt get into it, story didnt grab me, found the stealth to be underwhelming, forced morality system annoying

Oblivion - the skill system is tedious for me, super guards and crime tracking is ridiculous, the last quest was a glorified escort mission, combat system is just swinging a weapon over and over

Most/Korean MMos - these things just put me to sleep, especially ones that require you to work at it like a job, you're playing a game about doing erands

Visual novels/TellTale games - I'd rather read a comic book, decision making in these games isnt that engrossing for for some reason

Track and Field.

Literally, any iteration of it has bored me to tears. My best friend used to pressure me into playing it (Both the NES and PS1 iterations IIRC) with him and I hated it. Did not help that I was awful at it and that my friend was extremely good at it.

Even years later it's a running joke for him to suggest us playing that.

Recently the only thing that really comes to my mind is Elite: Dangerous.

The game has no character, no substance, no depth. Just a fuckload of space with nothing really on it. I got completely bored within 2 weeks (A few days to tell the truth, but I forced myself to play trying to justify the purchase and maybe find a shining beacon of light at the end of the tunnel) and I absolutely regret every cent I spent on it.

And before any fanboys quote me trying to defend this shallow and empty game (they are everywhere, can't tell why) let me just stop you and say that this is of course only my personal view, and you can bet your ass that unless Frontier does some rabid changes and stop listening to some "imagination" groups that keep idealizing this game for whatever reason, my opinion will not change at all.

Fallout 3. Vast open wasteland means lots of walking through uninteresting terrain, most dungeons are just the same burnt-out buildings with the same monsters and maybe a few journal entries, and the insultingly easy targeting system combined with the fact that you can pause at any time to heal yourself at no cost other than the healing items themselves means that the only difficult thing about the combat is keeping your NPC allies alive. There are a few interesting quests, but overall it's 3 hours of compelling gameplay stretched across a 30-hour game.

That, or Final Fantasy 8. A completely unlikeable protagonist (and maybe other characters too, I have no memory of anyone else's personality), lots of boring unskippable dialogue, a magic system that requires you to replenish your spells by sitting there and letting enemies hit you while you absorb their magic (I seem to recall summoning monsters also requiring you to sit there and wait). Random encounters with the same monsters over and over again have never exactly been exciting, but FF8's monsters scale to your level so the fights don't get over with any sooner just because your characters got stronger.

Not sure if the two of you are joking. If it took 500-800 hours for you to get bored with a game, that's hardly the most boring game ever.

Hm...straight up boring huh? Not bad, or frustrating, or anything else? Just boring? Well, I can only think of one game where that term comes to mind for me:

Destiny. The game just has no...soul to it, I suppose. I had heard the talk, about the horrible names, the blandness of the storyline, and all the other things, but I got the game for free so I decided to try it. And...I just have no desire to keep going. Usually, even if game is making me pull my hair out, I'll keep trying because I'm still curious about something in the game, whether unlocking new characters or more the story, but Destiny just doesn't have any of that. It's just so generic that I can't bring myself to care. Even when I was playing with friends, it was still like, "Why should I care?"
This is my answer too.

Destiny was the most boring grind with no reward that I've ever played.

The multiplayer got boring real fast when people started getting enough stats to power up their super constantly.
The boss fights were just atrociously boring HP Walls.

I have never, and I mean NEVER played a game as anal and boring as Children of Mana for the Nintendo DS. That was one hell of a snooze fest for me. Like it was so bad that it actually soured my perception of the entire JRPG genre for years before picking up Fire Emblem Awakening to give it a second chance. Other than that? I can think of games that disinterest me, but nothing that really fell into the category of boring.

Persona 3. It's a 100 hour game and 70 of them are spent running around indistinguishable randomly generated mazes fighting the same pallet swapped blob monsters. There are 265 nearly identical floors of Tartarus, all necessary to finish the game, with nothing in them but mazes and monsters.

And after all that tedious slog, the ending sucks anyway.

Dragon Age 2, no contest. EVERYTHING about it is a slog. A dull, repetative, lifeless slog; from the confusing, "awesome button", blood splatter everywhere, repetative waves after wave combat; to the dialogue who's options are pointless 90% of the time; to the repetative, souless environments; to the mundane, often plotless quests etc.

I bought it cheap again the other day for £4 just because I was curious as if to some of those who stick up for it with the "it's not a bad game, it's just not DA:O" were right. Nope. It was even more painful than the first time round to play. Took it back today. Shockingly dull.

I fell asleep many times playing final fantasy 9. I would just wake up in my chair staring at my screen trying to figure out how I got there.

i think DA2 caters to a niche audience (ironic as they were going for a broader audience with their "button awesome" streamlining of combat)

anyway the most boring game I have ever played is dungeon siege 3.

Forsaken World

F2P MMO grindfest that has attempted to come as close as possible to automating everything without just committing to an actual single button that says "grind me to max level."

You can gain exp and rep slowly while afk at a "training" spot. While not actually away from the keys, you can click on a name of an npc in your quest log that will run you over to them and open dialog. Accept the quest and the name of the monsters or gadget you need to find is highlighted. Click on that and your character runs over to the largest collection of them. You can then faceroll the hotkeys to murder everything around you. Once you have your 10 bear asses, click on the NPC name in your quest log to run back to the NPC to turn in and accept the next one...

Some F2P MMO's can do it right, but not that one.
Wow. That sounds less interactive entertainment and more like a massive QTE.

OT: Any MMO that is Korean playtested. Farming creatures 5-10 levels ahead of you just so you can get 0.0000000001% exp is a chore... It doesn't make a game fun at all.

Eve.
Mining and cargo hauling specifically.
Weirdly though, it wasn't the bad kind of boring.
Mining and lugging cargo while listening to the player ran radio station was strangely fulfilling, but while I was doing it I came to a conclusion.
It felt more like a job than a game.
Listening to the traffic reports between music and talk sections, entering into the occasional competition, all the while watching the rocks spin lazily in the starfield or counting down the sections on the route I was taking on a cargo run...
I felt like a galactic delivery driver.

If it wasn't for the time the game seemed to be demanding of me, I'd probably be playing it to this day.

Elite dangerous occasionally makes me pine for an in game radio station of the like they had in eve, it's so similar in this way.

For pure outright boredom though, I'd say it was soldier of fortune payback.
After the terrible AI and other quirks of poor development wore out their novelty amusement factor, every single moment within that shoddily made mess was a chore.

As much as I loved Persona 4 and tried to get into Persona 3, I have to agree. Tartarus is one of the laziest dungeon setups in the history of JRPGs. Goes to show you how far some tweaks to combat and more interesting dungeon design can take a game.

At least the music while exploring it and while fighting is excellent. More so in FES, since it allows you to choose from some additional tracks to play while exploring.

Had it not been for the music, the excellent combat mechanics and the collect-a-thon of personas it would have been an absolute chore though.
