I found the trap bolts in bioshock to be pretty OP
I beat fontaine and pretty much every single other big daddy or hard spot by stringing them everywhere and just running like crazy
The telekenises plasmid was pretty overpowered as well, it used barely any EVE so you could beat any missile turret or explosive splicer by catching and throwing the projectiles
Oh, and the sonic boom plasmid as well, it was hilarious just blasting any threat away before just running up to it and capping it in the head before it got up

I seem to remember the sniper rifle in Unreal Tournament being pretty ridiculous. Quite fast firing and huge damage with a small targeting reticule unscoped that allowed you to run around headshotting everything if you had half-decent aim.
It was ridiculously easy to headshot anyone in that game, one-shotting everyone that dared to get near your crosshair (or two shotting if they had a shield belt)

Also, Celestriad + Soul of Thamasa + Quick + Ultima in FFVI. (snip) There was a similar broken tactic in that game for melee, too, letting you get 8 attacks per turn with the genji glove and master scroll.
Add Gogo's Mimic to the mix and you get 10x Ultimas in a row. And the 8 melee attack combo was also broken, but not as badly as the Celestriad.

---------

In Bioshock, the Chemical Thrower with electric gel and the Wrench with proper gene tonics equipped. I spent the entire game wrenching splicers (1-2 hit on the early game splicers, 2-3 on the late game splicers) and only switching to the chem thrower to stun lock the big daddies. Not to mention that the entire game's difficulty is broken (unless you disable Vita Chambers), by the time I reached Tennenbaun's hideout I couldn't pick up anything because I had full ammo/HYPOs/FirstAid/CraftingItems/Money.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance's Assassins were a bit broken, not only they were the fastest units in the game (leveled properly they could get 2-3 turns before anyone else could even move) but they also ShadowBind + Last Breath to insta-kill anything that wasn't protected against KO or simply equip a Max Oathbow + Half MP to spam Ultima Masher, dealing 999 damage, AT RANGE. But FFTA2 went ahead with the ultimate gamebreaking skill combo: Seeq Ranger with Item Lore spamming Mirror Items (opposite effect of the item, healing items deal damage, status healing items inflict them instead). You could either use Mirror X-Potion to deal 400 damage or simply use a Mirror Elixir to set the target's HP and MP to 1, with no downsides or limitations as long as you kept a decent stockpile of items.

I'll have to disagree with you, trap bolts require some level of field preparation for an effective use (read: you can't simply spam them, you need to set up the trap and lure the enemy there). Telekinesis is ok, it was fun to swing around Splicer corpses and explosive barrels around. And (IMO) Sonic Boom was beyond useless, didn't deal enough damage, had a high EVE cost and having to run to the downed enemies to finish them was annoying when I could simply wrench them to death and heal afterwards...

O that's easy, fmg9 akimbo in Mw3 bloody things shouldn't be a secondary weapon!
I like how IW keeps changing it to "balance" it. The FMGs have taken 2 rate of fire hits, an accuracy hit, and a damage reduction, and they are still stupidly OP.

Simles, handgun in Halo, you could take out Elites wth one shot with that hideously overpowered sidearm. This was way back when Elites were bad guys and hard as nails too.
This times infinity.
I'd run around with a pistol and other gun (pref shotgun) because that pistol was so amazing. Halo CE shotgun is the best shotgun in any game ever. Even MW2 spaz or akimbo models are not as good as it.

My entries: FAMAS in MW2, Type 95 in MW3, Feral druids pre-Cata, Ret pallies in wotlk, DKs during their first couple weeks, Hector + Armads in Fire Emblem, Swordmasters with Killing Edge, Berzerkers with Killer Axe, dual SBP90s in TS2, and Smiterdins in D2.

Executioner's Sword in XBOX/PS2 Gladius. Any critical hit automatically kills an enemy, and with 4-5 critical hit chances per turn it's next to impossible not to win every battle if you stack your team with heavy fighters.

The ability doesn't work against the handful of boss characters, but without a doubt the cheapest weapon in the game.

You can test the theory by playing multiplayer. Anyone with the execution sword wins and anyone without the executioner's sword is in a world of futility.

EDIT: This multiplayer theory works for the post above as well. Halo 1 multiplayer if you use anything but the handgun you are going to fail.

I wonder though, can pokemon count? 'Cause Black/White introduced Chandelure, a Ghost/Fire type (hits everything neutrally) that can learn Energy Ball (hits weaknesses) and has decent defenses and Mewtwo's Special attack. It can be obtained pretty early in game, and every time I use it... well, I never use anything else, as all the enemies are dead before I can switch out.
Really? It seems like it couldn't take very many hits. As with Darmitan, but I thought he was a better fire type anyways. With Sheer Force it gives an extra %20 damage to fire punch, and of course there's STAB. Plus a flame plate adds another %20. Not to mention his attack is extremely high in the first place.

EDIT:I should also prolly mention Heihachi Mishima. Well, actually every Tekken character if you know how to use them right.

Sky Dragon Slash from Grandia II and the Spectre Assault Rifle MK.X from Mass Effect both come to mind here...

Sky Dragon Slash for being a battle-wide attack that deals 3-4000 damage, charges fairly quickly and only costs 99 MP (which can be modified to 30 MP). Most enemies in Grandia II by the time you get Sky Dragon Slash have around 2-3000 HP, so it one hit kills nearly everything - hell, the final boss goes down in around 4-5 of these things, and he has the most health out of anything in game (a rare first for RPGs I've played...)

The Spectre Assault Rifle MK.X is overpowered for many reasons; 1: even unmodified it can unload a ridiculous amount of shots - modified, it's a 'Never stop firing' weapon. 2: It does ridiculous amounts of damage per bullet, which makes it's fast firing rate and 99.99% accuracy (with no recoil or accuracy loss while firing). 3: It only costs 1,000,000 credits - now, this might seem like a lot to you, but if you've played Mass Effect 1 you'll notice how ridiculously easy it is to get that much money (the MK.VII is only 300,000, and is almost as powerful). So it never stops firing, does massive damage per hit, has flawless accuracy and is really easy to get ahold of. Could only be more overpowered if it fired exploding bullets...

Also the Pulse Rifle from the Dead Space games. 175 rounds in the clip, 9 damage per shot and a stun for every round that lands... if you've got a decent aim, it's pretty much just a giant 'Fuck you' to every necromorph you come across. It's the gun that doesn't even bother with limb shots to kill shit - it just ruins everythings day with stunlocks and massive damage.

Excadrill is the overpowered pokemon. It's like smogons symbol of "you have to have" either that or thundrus.

Silenced tranquilizer gun in any Metal Gear Solid game, especially in MGS4 and Peace Walker. Turns the games into glorified target practice ranges.

In every Ratchet and Clank game their is an unlockable weapon called a RYNO (Rip Ya a New One) and every single one is overpowered with the most overpowered probably being the one in RnC2 which was just a big lightning claw you pointed upwards and every enemy on screen would instantly disintegrate.

Farsight XR-20, from Perfect Dark (N64, not the new garbage). You could one-shot any enemy on the map, through walls. If that wasn't enough, though, its secondary mode was an x-ray tracking scope, which literally aimed for you.

The ballistic fist from Fallout New Vegas, I gave that thing to Veronica and went into the cave where the legendary deathclaw was, I didn't get to fire a single bullet into the thing Veronica hit it a few times and it went down.

Before it was patched, the FAL-SS was OP in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer. Once you got to level 50, the online became much easier. Now that gun's made of poop though.

In the Median 2008 mod for Diablo II (now outdated by Median XL) there was a skill Necromancers had called Deathstrike. It could call in what was basically an airstrike anywhere on screen, and you could spam the living crap out of it. Combined with the fact necromancers had about 30 shadow minions, you could just call them in on whatever your minions were fighting about 50 times and watch everything asplode. They did change it in Median XL to a Rouge Sister henchie spell that they don't spam the hell out of, but even then it's still pretty OP.
