Just ignore him mate, he thinks everything he says conclusively proves your points wrong as he says them, even though they're essentially just his opinions. You can't reason with people like that. I've seen the same thing a hundred times. Some people just can't grasp that you can be proficient at a game mechanic and think it sucks balls at the same time. Every single time I've mentioned how awful GTA IV's car handling is, people always just to the same conclusion: "Ju don't lik it cos u suk at eet!" It's pretty obvious that realism ruined GTA IV. One may argue that the game is not actually realistic, which is fairly true, but it's hard to deny that it was the pursuit of more realism that made GTA IV such a turd. I wouldn't say the GTA games were headed more realistic at all- true there was a jump from 2D to 3D, but Vice City was way less realistic than 3, and San Andreas was basically the same gameplay with far more features. There was no evolution towards GTAIV's sudden 'lets make the player take a yard and a half's worth of space just to turn around while on foot' approach, nor did the brakes in GTA games steadily progress towards the bald tyred, worn-to-the-metal noexistent brake pads in IV that render any 90º turn unnatainable without starting your brake three city blocks back.TestECull said:Reasonable debate snip
GTA IV. Maybe not ruined by realism, but certainly ruined by the quest for it.
