Mine is a picture of a statue of Persephone, since my user name is Persephone. I deliberately chose an unfocused, gray picture as I felt that both the name and the picture reflected how I felt in life when I joined the Escapist. (And I guess I often still feel that way, too. But not always.) That's why I didn't capitalize my user name, too; I felt leaving it all lower case was a better fit for the feel I wanted.

The Ultramarines are the most badass faction in the most badass universe.
Cato Sicarius is a vainglorious jackass who is a poor representation of his Chapter, but he LOOKS like a perfect representation of it.

He's the brilliant AI the Forerunners built to lead their defense against the Flood but he was eventually convinced to betray the Forerunners by the Gravemind's persuasive message of zombie-peace and borg-unity.

Mine is the player character from an NES platformer called Gimmick! released only in Japan and Scandinavia. It is a really good game and extremely beautiful for an NES game, really showing how a game can be beautiful despite technical limitations.
