Fire, as far as I know. And it could be correct. I like to stay on solid ground. Don't like water very much, have a little fobie of drowning although I can swim. And I don't want to be inside all the time. Like to set all kinds of stuff on fire when I was a kid, like my own made blackpowder and plastic(nothing criminal or mischievous).
I would most likely be either fire or water.
Fire because im a pyro, i like to build and destroy and im an asshole when im pissed off.
Water because, i care about people when they're hurt, i like swimming and im mostly calm and controlled. unless i get pissed which makes me return to the "maybe im fire" thing.

OT: Probably wind/air. With that, I could do pretty much anything. Like flying. Imagine being able to go wherever you'd want to go with barely any effort what so ever! Also, I like the wind...
It's either that, lightning or darkness, depending on what qualifies as an element.

Darkness, nothing more soothing than the dark. Plus its usually accompanied by quiet which is a rare blessing in our modern world.

I should rephrase then... Mastery of either Darkness or Light automatically gives mastery of the other. Therefore "Darkness and Light" is/are one element... Unless one assigns extended meanings of "Holy" and "Unholy/Profane" so often implied by Light and Dark, respectively.TheNamlessGuy said:

I like to reference a nifty system from Might and Magic (specifically M&M7)... might be worth looking into if you're interested. You can also pick up DnD references, GURPS (which is by far the most encyclopedic pencil-and-paper roleplaying game i've ever had the pleasure of reading) books.
Also... What about some bigger metaphysical elements: Time, Space, Gravity (which i suppose is technically related to Earth), Mind (i'm putting that back in because even with the general "all life" definition, there are things not fully covered by Soul imo), and an even more awesome but generic element Energy (which has pieces of everything). Stuff to think about...
BACK OT: I for one, assuming my previous "Air" claim doesn't go through, would love to be a Time master. Time travel, freeze, stop (yes, it's different), haste, fugue (the ability to go back an instant in time and team up with yourself)... awesome.
That's a tough one, I would pick fire because I'm a pyromaniac, water because of how destructive it is, wind because it's my favorite element (neglecting the whole pyro thing) and earth because it's pretty hard to destroy a rock.
on reflection though, I would pick earth because it feels more like a defensive element, which fits my personality. also, earth has diamonds, so I could be pretty much indestructible : D

OT: I would go with air, not the most destructive or powerful, but I'm a speed rather than strength type of guy.
