Going to sound like a fan boy but Final Fantasy 7 love the tinny sounding music in perticular the song during the final fight with sephiroth (one winged angel)
Assassin's Creed (all of um!) Jesper Kyd writes amazing pieces that fit the series so well.
inFamous 2, beautiful, really brings the city to life.
Mass Effect 2, tense music that works with the on screen action.
Well a few years back I would of said Star Control 2, no questions asked.
More recently I have been digging the Super Meat Boy, Portal 2, Rock of Ages, Starcraft Broodwar, AI War Fleet Command and Bastion soundtracks. There are just so many good game soundtracks!
Otto Matic; especially from levels 1-10, and the title screen, and the game over screen, and the high scores screen. So yeah, every single moment of that game had REALLY good music.
well for me i choose the kingdom hearts games (1 + 2)
Shadow of the colossus had a damn good classical soundtrack
but my main Number 1 game soundtrack is from Legend of Legaia on PS1
every damn piece of music was masterfully woven into it, with each one meaningful to the situation such as:
sad epic boss fight shit is about to go down get the hell out of there this place is of evil!
