GTA III when I was 13. Had to do all my homework for 3 weeks and do chores around the house so my parents would rent it for me. Ended up buying it for me for Christmas that same year.

Doom at age 5 I think. I can't believe that it was ever considered an 18/M rated game because now that kind of age rating is just laughable in todays video game world.

Does Wolfenstein 3D count? Don't know if there were ratings back then but I was about 6 or 7 years old.

I have played alot of games since then, still haven't killed, assaulted or raped anybody in my live. According to Fox News I must be the next Messiah :)
I was never, and still am not really a fan of uber grapic violence. Just, not my thing. BUT, my first, i guess "M" rated game, if you can call it M rated or even a ligit GAME, was a mod of Wolfenstein, the original, that replaced the regular Mobs with Beavis and ButtHead, and the bosses with Barney the Dinosar. Yeah...( I was 13 or 14ish at the time, that was...17, 18 years ago..LOL) Did a little Doom back in the day, when it was new, on the PC... not a huge fan but it's what everyone was playing in the computer labs at school, so, i joined in.

Since then, again, i'm not much for grapic violence, but I've played (and enjoyed) Halo, 1, and 2. (never finished 3) Currently Mass Effect is about as graphic as it gets for me, and my only other M rated games (I have 2 as well, eagerly awaiting 3..) i accually own, besides the halo's.

Or just graphically violent game if your selection predates ESRB or you live in a region that doesn't use it.

Mine was the first Killzone when I was 14. I had discussed it with my parents and they decided that at that point I was at an age where it wouldn't warp my then fragile little mind. I'm also pleased to report that as an adult I have never had any urge to murder the innocent. Could it be Fox News has been *gasp!* overreacting?!

So what age did you get you first 18+ game? If you were under 18 did playing the game in fact turn you into the cannibalistic puppy raping terrorist that Fox claimed it would?
I got Tenchu: Stealth Assassins when I was 12. Still haven't put on a face mask and started cutting peoples heads off yet. As a side note, tenchu is one of my favorite video game series of all time, they need to move to 360 so i can play again.

I was like 13 or something when I played CoD:WaW at a friend's house, and upon realizing that M games were just T games with a "f***" here and there, I haven't stopped playing them since.

While I had played Mortal Kombat in the early '90s, right around the beginnings of the ESRB, the first M-Rated title I actually owned had to be GTA III. My brother played that one to death, and later did the same with Vice City and San Andreas.

I played "M-rated" videogames before there were ratings. I first played MK when I was ten, didn't like it... felt like a sub-par Street Fighter II.
