Wait, isn't that the game that has that sniper rifle, the AWP or something, that does one hit kills no matter where you hit someone? Yeah, then that game REALLY takes skill.
No, not 'no matter where you hit them'. If you'd ever played the game you'd know at the very least that much.

Any FPS without auto-aim.

If you can lock-on to an enemy by aiming, if the reticle slows when you move your reticle over the enemy, if the reticle follows your target when they move, then "skill" doesn't matter much outside of "pull trigger when reticle turns red".
Totally agree. Socom is pretty much the hardest console FPS at first because of the lack of auto-aim. Other FPS' still take skill, but to a lesser degree. You can aim around your target and the game will correct you to hit him, but in Socom, your crosshair has to be on him, and even then, other factors can affect your shot.

Umm... I've noticed how COD players SUCK when they try to play Bad Company 2...
They also suck at Medal of Honor. Maybe it's a DICE game thing? But they usually aren't good at Halo either. Hmmmm....
And there awful at Unreal Tournament which may I add if have slow reactions and cant aim pin point you will not get very far on the pc.

Yeah, CS does.

I still hate it though, I can't stand that game. So skill doesn't necessarily equate to fun.

Oh, also Quake live takes a lot of skill, and it's definitely more fun than CS.

Fail? Seriously? A halo game is bad?

Really?

Also apparently, "It doesn't take skill?"

Duty Calls: The Calm before the Storm

I mean it, you need to be like an actual military opperative who's got like incredible sharpshooting skills with a simple pistol.

I'm talking about PC here. There is no auto aim for PC multiplayer. It's just as hard/easy as any other shooter really.

A game where everyone is on equal footing that takes skill?

If you play against someone, it takes skill, sure some people may totally suck compared to you but no game is harder then any other game, some people are just more dedicated to certain games *case and point almost every RTS*

Halo multiplayer really isnt anything new or done better else where in my mind its not bad just bit generic. And Red orchastra is seriously hard compared to halo though not as pretty.

Have to go old school MP and say Unreal Tournament (original, but 2003/2004 as well) and Quake 3.
Those games were fast. Ridiculously fast. Even more so in UT when someone increases the Game Speed setting for fun. 16 player Instagib deathmatch at 200% Game Speed seperates men from boys, women from girls. Even without mods/mutators the normal games themselves require great aiming, reflexes, spatial awareness, memory, time-keeping and mobility.

Always fun getting someone considered a good Halo or CoD player to try one of those games against reasonable bots. They get slaughtered near every time.

From what I hear, Rainbow Six is very tricky to learn.
Oh ya. Reaction timing. Planning. And more. Not only do you have to be quick on your feet, but you have to think even faster. Man I love those games ;)

(Except Vegas: Run run kill bang boom shoot ahhh, respawn shoot bang boom)

none of them really take skill, if you can play one you can play another, but they all take a certain level of practice.
Nope doesn't apply for KZ. You could be the best COD player ever, play KZ2 and you'll get raped by vets. Coincidentally, KZ2 and Resistance 2 are my picks

I think Call of Duty takes some skill. Playing a game of hardcore free for all with 15 really good players can be hell sometimes.

I guess what I'm getting at is all FPS games take skill. It's the same kind of skill too, so I think if someone is very naturally good at Call of Duty, they will be good at Counter Strike and New Vegas and anything in between. Granted they might have trouble with the slower pacing, but I think they'd still be above average with it.
Doesn't change the fact that their is horrendous auto aim and the other fact that people may/may not respawn right behind you.
Were talking about a skilled FPS and bring Auto aim to the table?

Well, "Kill with Skill" is Bulletstorm's tagline, but to be honest it plays out more like "kill in the least efficient but most flashy ways possible". Still fun though :)
I agree.
Bulletstorm is up there as one of the most difficult.

Kind of in the same way DMC or Bayonnetta is. You can run through, destroying everything in your path with COMPLETE ease just by doing one thing over and over, or you can try your hardest, and get an amazing score.

My friend had me beat the demo ((10k points or higher for a special unlock)) for him because he couldent get above 8700. xD my first try i hit 11k, and then following it up with a 12k run.

Its a game where skill is everything, or nothing.
