From a purely aesthetic point of view?

I got a PS3 for Christmas and, after thinking it looked pretty nice in images, was surprised at how damn ugly it is in the flesh.
The 360 sitting next to it isn't much better and the machine next to that, my much defended Wii, is about as nondescript as they come.
Further consideration has led me to the conclusion that there hasn't really been an aesthetically pleasing games machine since the gorgeous re-design of the PSone:

and before that you have to go all the way back to the iconic Spectrum 48k:

I really can't think of any others that actually looked nice - some were 'ok' (Dreamcast, Megadrive) and handhelds usually look pretty decent, but on the whole the physical design of most consoles, since their inception, seems to have been somewhat lacking.
