Which is the best console?

From a purely aesthetic point of view?

I got a PS3 for Christmas and, after thinking it looked pretty nice in images, was surprised at how damn ugly it is in the flesh.
The 360 sitting next to it isn't much better and the machine next to that, my much defended Wii, is about as nondescript as they come.

Further consideration has led me to the conclusion that there hasn't really been an aesthetically pleasing games machine since the gorgeous re-design of the PSone:

I really can't think of any others that actually looked nice - some were 'ok' (Dreamcast, Megadrive) and handhelds usually look pretty decent, but on the whole the physical design of most consoles, since their inception, seems to have been somewhat lacking.

I love it and's not quite boxy-ness. The controller is something of a writeoff visually but surprisingly pleasant to play with.

Sega has quite the history of best looking consoles, in my always humble opinion.

Yeah, I don't think the mods will totally listen. The banhammah is gonna crush you. Anyway, I think the best console is the PS2, because 99.9% of my favorite game comes from that console.

I think the GBA is the best looking console although technically it isn't a console. I suppose I'll have to say that the Nintendo Entertainment System is the best looking console. In it's day the thing was ugly as fuck but now that it has become something of the past and is so dramatically different to the consoles of today it looks kind of nice and interesting. It's basically a box but its an original and cheerful box... how can't you love it?

Personally I actually think the PS3 is a very pretty console, it's kind of imposing, and shiny... I like shiny things... mmmmm

The Wii isn't bad either, and although owning an xbox 360, I think it's an ugly brute. Can't say I ever really liked the older consoles, box like machines just look nerdy and out of date these days.

I loved the orignal xbox look and the wii looks awesome as well, especially with the lights off. The ps3 in my opinion looks like a monster (in a bad way) and the 360 just looks bad (aside from the elite version)

Edit: The DS lites look funky aswell.
