I know how he looks on the box art and such....I guess I'm wondering because he has no traits at all to like or dislike. The main character of Half Life may as well have been a brick with nerd glasses taped to it. Would everyone on this forum be prattling on about how great Gordan Brick was? (that's a rhetorical question, of course you idiots would) The same goes for Link too. I admit these games were great and fun to play but I have no attachment to these characters (if that is what they are to be called) whatsoever.

That's because you are Gordon Freeman, you are link. That's why a lot of people enjoy games like Half-Life. Because you are the person role-playing the protagonist.
I myself can never begin to imagine how half-life would work if Gordon would shout out cheesy one-liners half the time.

What about all the games where you create your own silent protaganist, IE fallout 3 and oblivion, You talk as in words on the screen but you technically don't say anything aloud so ergo you are silent

By that logic, and no you are not the only one who has said it, people have said it about KOTOR as well, but yes, BY THAT LOGIC, the Final Fantasy games from I-IX, the Pokemon RPGs, and a GREAT many other RPGs (and just older games!) have NO DIALOGUE.

I'd say Bioshock character, if he has a name i don't now it, just because the only thing that you know he has are forearms and hands, that may be all that he is floating forearms and hands.
