He's just in everything lately, he doesn't seem to have much talent beyond playing an "awkward teen," and I really don't think he's that funny.

Oh, yeah, and again, he's in everything. I'm getting tired of seeing him so often when I didn't even like him much to begin with.

i like him. but he is very much a one hit wonder (acting style wise... hes been in alot of great movies though) he needs to grow as an actor and get out of the awekward teen phase. it wont work in 3 years.

I like him, he has been great in all the movies I have seen him in. But then again, I am an Arrested Development fanboy so im a bit skewed. Nothing wrong with Cera though, he is doing a good job. Plus, who else would do this

I love Michael Cera. He's adorable as hell. It makes me want to do very dirty things to him, things that would make him extremely uncomfortable. I don't think he's a bad actor either. He did a great job being a badass in Scott Pilgrim.

Besides, Megan Fox is only good at acting like a hooker, but people still like her. So why get after Michael Cera for only being able to act one way?

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't dislike him, but it seems a lot of people do. I'll admit my judgement may change in the future if he doesn't try doing a role other than "Awkward teen", but as it stands he doesn't ruin movies for me in the way Seth Rogen does.

So do you hate Michael Cera? Why or why not?
Personally, I like him, but I think the hate might have something to do with this.

Michael Cera is awesome. He's a charming man with great comic timing, and while he's been in bad movies, he has never been the reason that the movie was bad.

People claim that they don't like him because he always plays the same character, but you can say that about any comedic actor.

No, Katanas were used by Ninjas, the Samurais Mortal Enemy, while Samurais used Samurai Swords. Katanas were just based in the Samurai Sword.

I think.

Samurai carried what is known as a "Daisho", which is a Katana (though to be more specific it's technically an Uchigatana) and a Wakizashi (or short-sword, basically a shorter katana).

Ninja, at least the ones properly doing their job, rarely used swords, as they were hard to conceal. From what I understand, sais, kunai, and kama (or other weapons that could easily be disguised as peasant tools) were the weapons of choice for most ninja.

Some people have a face that makes you furious. It evokes an irrational and primal feeling that just makes you want to punch them.

At least that's my reasoning.
I agree, just something about that guys face makes me want to punch him...
I'm sure you've already gotten this a lot, buuuut.

I can only speak for myself and say that I don't hate him but I don't particularly find myself needing to see everyone of his movies since he always plays the same type of character.

Personally, I have absolutely no problem with Michael Cera at all - I've watched Scott Pilgrim at least three times now, and have found no issue with him. Like Keanu Reeves - put in the right role, he's perfect.

I can't imagine anyone else playing a better Scott Pilgrim.

His acting is average, he plays the same character in almost every single role, dripping with fake awkwardness.
Fake awkwardness while acting...

Yeah, because he's actually awkward when talking to people. I'm pretty sure its fake awkwardness because he's ACTING.

In all honesty, the only thing I resent him for at the moment is that he got to pash Ramona Flowers... *shakes fist*

Micheal Cera falls into an uncanny valley of today's youth.
Do you really believe that or are you just trying to sound smart by mashing together words you don't understand?
He's not even close to the "uncanny valley" he's still a fake teen just like every other actor or actress who tries to play the "geek" or awkward kid.
Yes. Other actors are fake enough that it's just something to rub off, but Cera is just close enough to make me sit there and feel slightly disturbed by it.

About Michael Cera

In 2010, Michael Cera hurts you at the box office.
After "Superbad" and a supporting role in "Juno," many mistakenly believed the "Arrested Development" cast member was the next quirky, unexpected star who could relate to the millennial generation. Well, not so much. His follow ups either were puzzling, but quality misfires ("Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist," "Youth in Revolt") or outright bombs ("Year One"). That string of negative results basically stung Cera's likability with audiences. Unfortunately, he'd already been selected as the lead and shot "Pilgrim" before the biggest turd, "Year One," even hit theaters. Universal quickly realized the problem, but while they could hide his face on the poster, it was hard to take Scott Pilgrim himself out of the trailers or TV spots. And frankly, if you're Cera's agent, you better be hoping that "Arrested" movie actually gets off the ground or HBO comes calling about a TV series after this weekend.
I think that sums it up quite nicely. Personally, I think that Cera has a lot of talent and just had the misfortune of being type cast early in his career.

And yeah, "Year One" sucks ass. I mean, I hate Jack Black. (YES, I SAID IT) He's loud, obnoxious and generally unfunny in EVERYTHING he does. But that aside, the movie plot was terrible and the acting was even worse. And the most tragic part of the whole mess was that Cera was unfortunate enough to be cast as a leading actor in it. If he hadn't made such a terrible choice with Year One (and Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist) I think that Pilgrim would have done so much better because people wouldn't have gone, "Michael Cera? Uggggggggggggh."
(I did love Pilgrim though. Quirky, funny and nerdy.)

It's a fucking sword no matter what you call it. Stop derailing the thread with stupid trivialities. JEEZ.
