I think one of the problems is that we're so utterly obsessed with not discriminating anyone that we've become afraid to admit that some kids just need a harsher treatment. Wind the clock back half a century. If some kid badmouthed you (you being an adult), you'd slap him across the ears, or he'd be beaten by his dad or his teacher. Nowadays, people would say or rather whisper the kid has a certain syndrome of such and such, and that we should all treat him like a full and equal member of society. The annoying kid is made a victim of some condition, and NO ONE shall touch the poor little kid with the condition. We've lost our spines man.
