Theoretically brilliant, realistically crap, the problem is the people.
as i have said many times we would need to replace everyone with robots, but then who would make my games, food, shelter, women, who!? so as much as robots would perfect this world we would all just be droids and thats not fun

I have yet to see a japanese villain.

Really.
Weren't more than half of Call of duty 5's enemies Japanese? I've seen a few games were the enemies are Imperial Japan.
They tend to be more the right hand henchmen
I think they should be like that; Germany started the war so I believe they should be the enemies.

It's much simpler. Though having ridiculous hats and an insulting accent, russians and muslims were chosen for the sake of simplicity. Game developers don't concern themselves with politics, or anything else besides game development ('cuz they are a bunch of nerds). So to portray evil they choose first thing that comes to mind. Obviously, most of the time it's something that is widely recognized as evil (for whatever reasons).

James Bond? But they like to make British people evil because they sound pretty smart.

(not reading 5 some odd pages.)

The reason Russian are usually shown as evil because for the longest time, Americans haven't liked them. Also, in WWII, they were just brutal. From gunning their own troops whenever they retreated to the way they treated POW's, and the whole commie thing, it hasn't put them in the best of light.

But they're not always shown as evil. They're good (or usually good.) in
-Enemy at the Gates (movie)
-Call of Duty:World At War (game)
-Soldier X (book)
-The Hunt For Red October (movie/book)

they were a bunch of other WWII shooters that showed the Russians as good on the X-Box, but I can't remember what they were called. (Think it might have been Medal of Honor.)
The Hunt For Red October... didn't they send another russian sub to sink it?
Don't remember. It's been a long while since I've seen the movie. (never read the book.)

Even in Nightwatch and STALKER, a film and game respectively that were devloped and created in Russia, show out Soviet friends to be nothing short of a little shifty. Muse be all the forboden architecture and the vodka.

It is not the best form of government unless it works in this universe. Back on topic, mostly because of the cold war, the gulags and the hats.
Hence why Socialism with an uncoruptable leader would be the best, Communism means that there is no competitive market.
Socialism can co-exist with a free market.
If you had an incorruptible leader you could just make them a dictator and have essentially the same result. My point, is incorruptible people don't exist in this universe, so anything that relies on them is not best for this universe.

Unlike Nazi Germany, which only really lasted from 1933 to 1945, Russia has a far longer history of corrupt governments and abrupt regime changes. Ever since the Csars fell, it's been one long battle of 'king of the hill' or rather 'worker of the hill'.

"A russian cleans up in chigargo" Featured our beloved terminator as a russian cop who had to clean up some scum in America.

It's because the russians we're the enemy once, so they stay that way in games... call it propaganda or patriotism
I say its because of ignorance and pride. But if it makes people feel better about themeselves, then go ahead and hate Russians to death. Just know that I hate you as much as you hate them.

But as for a guess that makes people laugh, I say its because that a majority of things they make are somehow flammable and explodable. And as said before, the accent.

Maybe i just misunderstand why you quoted me, and i'm not quite sure what to make of it, but just to make things clear:

I don't hate russians. I'm not a patriot. Even if i were i'm Danish and the russians were never the enemy of Denmark.
I guessed that patriotism could be the reason, though i see that it may have been misintepreted the way i wrote it.
If that was in no way what you meant then sorry.

Burning vodka is a sin BTW, it's like spilling beer on purpose.

Considering how I'm not a drinker, it is not much of a sin to me.

Anyway, I quoted you to name a different assest of reasons that coresond to those.

Is that the Red Heat movie? James Belushi and Arnold?
I donøt know the american title. The Danish title is "En Russer rydder op i chicargo" which translate to "A russian cleans up in chigargo" but you're prolyl right. Somehow movie namers get strange ideas about having different titles in different countries. Luckily they don't translate most titles
*Shiver* Yeah, I live in Norway, so I know about horrible movie titles. Fortunately, as English has become a more known tongue, less movie titles are sodomized.

OT: It's been mentioned before; the accent. It's a well-known movie cliché: If you want a villain, give him an accent. Be it Russian, British, French, or whatever. And the fact that it's a habit, too. During the Cold War, Russians became a prime target for the bad guys-gallery and since there - arguably - are no clear contestants to the bad guy role after that, the villains will be Russian, French, German, British, etc.
