Why cant you kill kids?

Because the 'Gamers' that shouldn't be called gamers because they can't mentally handle games and go nuts and kill people, which gives the company and other gamers a bad rep.

The first thing I thought when I read that though was "Does this guy think recently used prostitues are as innocent as children?"

If they were used by me then all shred of innocence and dignity they had left in them would be gone.

Little wierd but okay, also they are already prostitutes... how much dignity can they have? (and no way can they be innocent)

Although I can see someone making a thread about this, called something like "The Innocence..." leading them into the trap that is a thread discussing prostitutes... it is the kind of misleading title that I am getting quite well known for, however the subject is far too seedy... I go vice versa, seedy title but relatively innocent subject.

How could that possibly make a game better? Realism? Blah, blah. Who the hell would really go around killing kids? In a game with that degree of "realism" you should also be able to be easily overpowered by the police, tazed, shot, and treated like the scum of the earth.
Seriously, if you want people to respect games, you have to be respectable yourself.

I agree that the whole child killing angle is not somewhere games should go,but if games become this artform that so many want them to be i`m afraid it will lose touch with what it was all originally about,fun.

It's game breaking, in my opinion. I hate fallout 3, but imposing moral absolutes on you in a world such as fallout's is beyond pathetic. It's a wasteland and you do what you can to survive, sometimes kids get in the way.
The gaming industry needs to forget about Jack Thompson and his followers. If gaming is ever going to become a respected medium, like that of books, music and movies, it needs to tackle difficult issues like the breakdown of morality under harsh conditions.

I feel that killing children in a videogame is wrong and immoral. Killing children in a videogame is a step in the wrong direction whether it is make believe or not.

Honestly, think of the pissed conservatives or just people who love kids and don't want their children to get any "funny" ideas.
How many times have video games been linked to violence? Whether its true or not it doesn't matter, because if a game has a player killing children and then the player goes and shoots up a school... then who's going to be to blame? =\

I for one don't really want a game where I would kill children... Bioshock is as close as you can get to killing children that I know of and I chose to be good because even though the small girls were creepy, I just couldn't harvest the little scamps.

It wasn't easy for me learning. When you're typing while playing Aliens VS Predator 2 in multiplayer you learn to type very quick at a young age.

I just learnt at school... you have to be quick if you are gonna play games and close the window as soon as the teacher notices some stuff going on. XD

^ You took the words right out of my mouth. Look at Mass Effect, they made a huge deal about it because it supposedly showed sex, but it didn't show anything. Imagine the outrage there would be if you were able to kill a child in a video game. It would be the Mass Effect scandal times a billion.

All I did was play a Java game where the objective was to peel a potatoe as fast as you can.

I got the class hooked and we started comparing our times on how fast we peeled a potatoe.

When you think back to school it always ends up being memories of times when you wasted as much time as you could, doing the most pointless thing ever... And I have to say your potatoe thing has to take the cake, surely. XD

Course, to make it acceptable, you can barely seem them, and they are really dehumanized.

To be honest they should let you kill kids. If you can kill adults,old people, dogs and such whats the difference.

And for the people whom are saying "some people dont want to kill children", then don't. Its not like they will make a misson where you have to massacre 50 kids, however tempting little lamplight is because they are all sooooooo annoying. Im all for equality here.
