Couldn't agree more, they're trying to create something that looks new by combining aspects of already well established genres such as grunge, post-grunge, and modern hard rock. Its a simple formula for bands that want to make as much money as possible while performing at the level of a high school jam band. It's ridiculousDannyJBeckett said:I think it's something to do with how successful they are despite their (in my opinion) phenomenal mediocrity.
Santana actually recorded that songs twice - once with Alex Band (The Calling), once with Chad Kroeger. We always speculated it was because Alex Band is a prettier man which was helpful for the music video. Apparently though:Danzavare said:I will stay maintain that the Santana crossover is awesome though.
http://bit.ly/uDAtI4When Arista wanted to release the single in the summer of 2003, Roadrunner Records, the record label for Nickelback, refused permission citing concerns that Kroeger appearing on a "high-profile single" would compromise the excitement over Nickelback's fall 2003 release The Long Road and hurt the Nickelback album sales. Kroeger recommended Band, another BMG artist, to re-record the song's vocals for single release. The Alex Band version omits the guitar instrumental bridge, and was also included on Ultimate Santana.
You essentially said 'Well, I think that most people who think Nickelback sucks are Jealous. But I think they suck'DannyJBeckett said:In what way do you find my statement contradictory?I Hate Consoles and Mondays said:I beleive this to be a condradctionDannyJBeckett said:I think it's something to do with how successful they are despite their (in my opinion) phenomenal mediocrity.
Well, I didn't mean it that way. I meant I think their their musical-quality/success ratio defies logic.I Hate Consoles and Mondays said:You essentially said 'Well, I think that most people who think Nickelback sucks are Jealous. But I think they suck'
As discussed above, for me (and I expect quite a lot of others) it's not just their sound because you're right, their sound is bland modern rock that in its own right isn't really any better or worse than any number of other bland rock bands.oppp7 said:According to a check of Youtube they sound the same as every rock-country band, so I have no idea why everyone would consider them worse. Could someone post something that is better and the same genre so I can compare?
Because they are 2000 and late.Trivea said:I personally like Nickelback, but that has nothing to do with why I don't get all the hate. My question is, why do people hate Nickelback so much when the Black Eyed Peas still insist on existing?
I was going to post this but you very much so beat me to it.dfcrackhead said:This video pretty much sums up what I don't like, plus the fact that every song they've put out in the last 4 years has been either "Lets get drunk/fucked up" or "Lets have tons of sex" and it's really damn tiresome.
