Why Do YOU Buy Used?

Normally I buy new, but only if the game has either A. had a good demo, or B. because I have done a ton of research into the game and have decided that it is a good buy for me.
The only time I buy used is if there is no demo available. Why? because at least with Gamestop I can get the game used try it for a week and if it's utter garbage I don't lose my money. Another time I buy used is if I'm boycotting new sales to certain large companies with shady ethics, like EA. I don't want them to have my money anymore, but their are some franchises under the conglomerate that are actually decent games that I would enjoy playing. Unfortunately there is no way to just give money to Bioware and Not EA. So until Bioware gets out from under EA's shadow, they also won't be getting my money,.

I usually buy used because it's cheaper and I like to help my local traders out. Or if it's the only way I can get game, like Halo 2. I'll buy new from indie/small time devs, but if a major studio releases the game and it's not worth the $60 for me, I'll wait a few months and grab it used for $30. I'm nothing if not patient.
I don't. Not so poor that I will buy a used game for 54.99 instead of 59.99, especially when they probably paid the person less than half that.
No affordable way really...I mean on Amazon I could have got Wind Waker new for the Gamecube for...$139.95 and up. I recently got it pre-owned and complete from a local place.ohnoitsabear said:

Because I can't afford 50 or 60 euro for a game. Even if I know I will love the shit outta it.
And Cheaper games are much easier to convince myself to buy. If I spend 10 euro on a game I don't like its not as big a deal as if I had have spent 50 or 60

Used games are cheaper, I take advantage of a lower price and generally if Im buying it used then Im buying it years after its release since I can afford to buy what I want new at the moment so its difficult to find a new copy and it isnt worth the extra £5 they usually charge.
Generally, I only buy used games when I can't get them otherwise or when, for some reason, I want to own a game but I specifically don't want to support the developers for it. If I decided, for example, to atone for my sins by playing Resident Evil 5 again, I would buy it used.
I do like supporting the developers when I can, especially if it's someone whose games I've enjoyed in the past, like Atlus or Retro Studios. If this means I have to wait a little longer to save up or for the price of new to come down, that's fine, it's not like I don't have plenty already.

It's the best way to find old gems I might have missed since Stores don't stock that many games.
