OT: Personally speaking, I'd like to see some biotech. We've got the main ideas behind genetic engineering and scientists have successfully created life in the laboratory, how come we don't have organic technology. We could create living power cells based off of electric eels or even go as far as creating augmented cyborg implants that enhance our bodies by allowing us to hear music and phone calls directly inside our heads (it'll be as close as anything to communicating telepathically), eyes that have HUDs that can connect to GPS systems and display the map over what we see so we never need to ask for directions.

Actually, for the eye thing, I wonder if someone is already working on some kind of system like that, except involving some techy glasses instead.

In all seriousness there needs to be some kind of alternative to braces, I've had what can best be described as metal studs and chicken wire hot-glued to my teeth for the past year or so (it was only the other week that a single rubber band was removed from that equation) and it just seems like such an archaeic orthodontic implement (new tongue-twister!) for the futuristic space-age of the 21st century. I pass a dental office on the bus each morning which boasts some miracle fixture dubbed invisalign, if that works as well as braces then let's start using it.

Well, it can't track fingers but it can track movement and shapes pretty well, if it knows where your arms are then it should know where your hands are, too, but yeah, I don't know if it can tell the difference between an open hand and a closed one. Maybe there'll be some kind of update to the software in the future where it can? I dunno, I'm just being a supreme optimist, I honestly see a bright future for this kind of technology and I'm trying to will it to be the best it can be (and yet, I don't own one, which is weird of me, I suppose).

I mean stuff like this[/I] shows some pretty amazing potential, along with the hack videos I've seen.
