Why don't YOU have Skyrim?

Because it's not worth paying full price for. I did, however, pick up Oblivion for £5 this week, which is probably around the same amount that I will end up paying for Skyrim.

I have A rule called: "buy bethesda games a year after release if you really want to"

for 2 reasons,

first their games are usually buggy and
second their textures are atrocious and they generally have too much (for me) game breaking stuff in their games so I wait until the modding community fixes this stuff

I have MW3, Dragon Age and Batman: Arkham City to finish. There's just no room for a game of Skyrim's size. It's now on my 2012 list.

With Bethesda games, I find it worthwhile to wait until all the DLC is released and most of the bugs are ironed out. Also, my current rig barely clears the minimum specs.

Thought Oblivion was shit, was optimistic about Skyrim but apparently it's still got all the shit from Oblivion.

Because I have no desire whatsoever to play it.
Not everyone loves fantasy RPGs, you know. I am one of those people.
People will stop caring about it in a few months. Then, we'll be on to the next huge title. And then the next, and then the next, and then the next...

My tale is either tragic or comical, depending on your views of the game:

I put my pc in the shop for a so-called quick-fix on the 9th. Turns out that it's going to take 2 WEEKS for them to get the replacement warantee hard drive. They basically didn't want to honour the warantee so are making it as difficult as possible (I made them do it anyway so in a way it's my own stubborn fault).

Picked up my Collector's Edition of Skyrim on the 12th...it's sitting here on my desk...taunting me. To make matters worse my flatmate is sitting here playing his copy on X360. I've been trying not to watch but it's hard not to.

I can't afford it.
I don't really have time to play it.
I bought BethSoft games on day 1 before, they didn't go well.
I have a feeling it's been severely molyneux'd, so I want to hear what it's actually like before I decide if I get it.

That said, I'll probably get it at some point in the next few months when these issues vanish.

I have school exams this week.
But more importantly I'm only playing Oblivion for the first time and I want to finish/play it for a good while before switching to a new game. Probably get Skyrim for Christmas.

My video card is broken, I'm still on my 2nd playthrough of Mass Effect 2, I just bought Crysis 2 super-cheap and want to see how it runs on my PC, I still have Oblivion's GOTY from a Steam sale waiting for me, and I aim to get those mods working this time.

Also I'm going to military service in January, so I won't have enough time to play it anyway.

*shrug* Saints Row the Third, Assassin's Creed Revelations and the imminent Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword were/are simply higher priorities for me.
