Why is nudity so heavily looked down upon in gaming? Especially when big boobed bimbos are so common

I see no point to censorship...I mean look at countries that don't censor their nudity...teen pregnancy is low, there are hardly any STDs. They don't turn it into a big deal...I mean look at why sex was so common in the 70's. It was because it had always been forbidden and taboo which made it sound exciting.
Here in Denmark games aren't enforced even though they carry the usual 16,18, Mature (etc..) markers. I bought GTA2 as a 11yr old? (i think) and I don't walk around murdering innocents with machine guns or run them over. Got the same view on semi / X-rated content. If a game contains nipples, suggestive conversation or even actual person on person, it doesn't mean that people who play it will become mindless zombies who think of nothing but sex. Heck I think most teenagers today thought of the latter first.

All such content in games is nothing compared to the filth they show on television these days. Daytime hours or otherwise.

Just my 2 quarters.

See?
no.....I don't get it, is it a verb? adjective?
Fap is a verb. And technically, it's only correct to use it about males. The female equivalent would be schlick. Fap sounds nicer, though.
Some things, you just can't unlearn...thanks. Stil though why call it fap, rather than masturbation?

Look up the comic "Sexy Losers" on Wikipedia. That's what popularised the use of the word.
The most significant contribution the comic made to popular culture has been the popularization of the onomatopoeia "fap" for the sound of male masturbation.

The Sad Truth: Because Games are still seen as some sort of High tech toys for kids while movies get away with it because it's a movie not a game

books get away with it but they should since I read something very explicit and sexual in a book at a young age and wasn't able to think right for a full month before just accepting what happend in the book.

but overall games should be about enjoyment and entertainment
but entertainment used like porno falls into a different category

(let's face it, a twelve year old looks at porn because he's curious, not because he's got a fetish for it).
We should all listen to this guy,he got the important question right( for those who need help It's why do we look at it?)
If you look at other parts of the world where this is not censored and can be even found in your nearest gas station, there is a big difference between how people react to porn. The message of "It not a big deal, and it is perfectly natural" stops people at an early age from being curious the rest of there life until the eventually go buy a magazine or something.Lets face it if you tell some one no, they want to do it/see it.When people are told don't do drugs,it makes them curious about it,they try it,they get addicted.Same thing, with this seeing some ones flesh. Every once in awhile it is not that bad. I do wish it was not tossed around so much that it became a reason to buy a game regardless of game play and everything else that matters in a game

Today at school we had an assembly on sexual health, and we were shown many disgusting images of both male and female genitialia. If they can show us close up pictures of diseased areas in school, why not blurry pixilated breasts in game?

Nudity as a whole is only an issue when parents buy said games for thier children due to thier ignorance or own stupidity.

Nudity to a gamer is an issue when the nudity itself is the driving force behind sells. Makes developers take the easy route in thier games by relying less on gameplay by just showing more skin on thier characters. And that's just sad (as in pathetic.)
stupidity? if i had a kid i'd have NO problem with him playing games with nudity. Beause i know in his shoes i'd want to.

Now I demand an FPS where the main character is naked but we never see it, and the entire game people are like FFS STOP SHOOTING BULLETS FROM YOUR MAGICAL GUN AND PUT SOME PANTS ON

And there could be cut scenes with hilarious hiding behind melons and tubas and so forth. But it should be done completely straight faced and it should be a gritty space marine drama.

It would be called Captain Pants: a tale of sea men and romance.

(And if you remember the radio serial of Captain Pants you are hereby awarded 50 cool points)

I agree with Troll, but for me being a girl gamer I like the idea of normal sized lady bewbs being exposed in a game rather than 3 threads covering size FF breasts on a 0 waistlined bimbo....

honestly though if there is nudity in a game the game gets a M or X rating. If a parent buys a M game for a 13 year old they better be ready for anything Mature.... Those ratings are there for a reason! Parents shouldn't be afraid to say no to thier kids!

A lot of games that feature nudity are very immature. It doesn't paint the industry all that well. For every Mass effect there are many more Leisure Suit Larry's.

"It's a bunch of pixels, you know? It's not real women. If you want pornography or sex, you can rent a DVD for $2 or something. You don't need to put that in a computer game. It just doesn't work."

-Al Lowe, creator of Leisure Suit Larry, of all things.

The acceptance of the amount of violence in video games is quite high yet,
nudity is extremely looked down on...it's a double standard.
(Don't get me wrong, I don't have an issue with violence in video games.)
There exists tasteful nudity and tasteless nudity, why can't people see this?

Do people really think you can keep teenagers from seeing nudity?

Or that not educating teenagers about sex is a good idea?
...I.E they have to wait till they're 18 (or they come of age).

I think video games again are being associated by many people as still being mostly for kids.
However, denying kids or teenagers access to something doesn't help, in fact it usually makes them more interested in it.
People want what they can't have.

Also, nudity / sexual innuendo seems to be more accepted / common in movies and television.

I think the main reason no one thinks positively of nudity is that...well, sexuality is a powerful concept. And we haven't found a way to make something that's both sexy and intelligent in gaming (or if we have, it's been largely ignored.) Granted, there are cases where nudity works like Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit and Mass Effect, where the nekkid bodies were tastefully done and used only within the proper context of the story. But for the most part, nudity in gaming is used the same way as it is in movies about high school romance: to shock the audience and to put teenage asses into seats.

Guys, i agree with the normal sized idea of nudity, but seriously, take drinking as an example

In britain, we have binge drinking, Alcoholics, the whole works, but thats because its almost taboo, When people hit the drinking age, they can't wait to get absolutely smashed, because to us its like a special occasion, we want to do it because we shouldn't...

But, if you look at France, they let their children drink from an early age, so by the time they hit the legal drinking age, its nothing new, its just something to settle into over a meal or when you want to relax

Now, im not saying we just shove porn mags in childrens faces, im just saying that if we let younger people grow up by themselves, and be a bit more lax on the censorship, it wouldn't be that bad

Some parents would probably disagree with your parenting methods, after all most parent are the ones making this an issue(I'm not blaming just them, there just part of the problem).
Most parents don't want there kids to be exposed to nudity that young(partially because they want whats best for their child and there opinion about it). this confuses me a little bit because I was first tough about this the Girl's body in kindergarten (I believe I was 5 then). even after that I was required to take a SEX-ED class in Middle School.
If that is not enough you can see nudity on.....TV,The internet, video games(partial still counts),movies, magazines, and you can read about it in books.
I remember when I was 3, I saw my first condom commercial after....I think it was Under the umbrella tree or some other kid show like that.
