I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying its place in the hearts of everyone here... confuses me.
Which brings me to my question: How did this all start? What were people looking forward to in Skyrim, why did they even care about it, and why is "Arrow to the Knee" of all the lines in the game quoted and twisted like it's an untruthful cake?

It doesnt suck, its intro though could be less of an exposition dump and the starting hill is annoying.
The glitches are absolutely hilarious. Physics? *****, im a Horse
It has minecraftian depth and gameplay evolved from an old and well enjoyed classic.
a level of refinement most games dont have.
The reason people who played skyrim like it is because while the voice acting still is crap, its alot better. The story itself is completely irrelevant to your entertainment, and unlike the story in Oblivion, not locked off to all but the most hardcore and forethinking players. you can do practically anything, and make your character look like how you want. Narrative is what you make in it, not something some unimaginative nintendo author decided to dictate to you.
Skyrim for anything but the PC is terrible. judging a game for a bad port on a non-home system when the game has very much inequal capacities on said console, is being narrow minded. Skyrim, and every elder scrolls game, host massive modding comunities that console games dont have. want your dragon flying normally instead of backwards? too bad PS3
Skyward Sword has these things going against it:
its a rehashed legend of zelda game with only one new thing and with a gimmicy setting.
this is Link #304. we stopped giving a shit about link and his incessant incapacity to remember he should shag the princess once his story is over. maybe if this link was female we would see some commentary on the game. Hell, having a Female link shag Zelda at the end of a Legend of Zelda game would make it the highest selling game of the year in the first hour of launch.
Motion controls as they are currently dont work. the Wii is sluggish, the Kinect is anal, and the move is just a bandwagon gimmic. Motion Capture studios would vastly improve the controls, but normal human beings dont have access to 10000sq" soundstages with perfect lighting, 60x million a pop high speed cameras, and the patience to velcro 250 white balls/dots to a black skintight velcro suit.
TLDR: Skyrim=New
