Never really payed much attention to Jobs in life so I can't really feel anything over his death but he did always seem to give off an air of pretentiousness and always had a sort of smug look on his face.

That... is a huge waste of money. I mean, sure, he had the money to waste, but still... Two top of the line Mercedes a year? That's some serious cash right there, even if he sells the "expired" models...

EDIT: Ah, I missed the part about leasing. I misread and thought he was actually buying them. Leasing makes more sense, financially.
Even so, the SL55 AMG is hardly "top of the line" when there are the SLS and Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren to consider. (Waaaaaaaay more expensive.) If they were SLRs or Bugatti Veyrons or something, then I'd be blown away!

Hmm... Yes, some billionares donate money to charity, Steve Jobs bought a new car every 6 months simply to troll local law enforcement... yeah, I hope you don't mind me not shedding any tears now that he is 6 ft under.

So what was his excuse for parking in handicap spaces?
Seriously, what a dick, how did info like this not get spread like wild fire when he was still alive?
He only parked in the handicap spots on the apple campus, which he owned.
Eh, you're just assuming that.
The article says "Jobs even in the early 80?s was keen on discarding license plates and parking in Handicap spots."

I think it's quite likely he parked in handicapped spaces wherever he wanted.

He did always have a kind of trollish smile...Well, going mad with power is a lot better than going mad with no power...
Of course, have you ever tried to go mad without power? It's no fun, nobody listens to you.

OT: The parking thing isn't so bad, because most CEO's have a special parking space right in front. But still, what an asshole.

And I think it's quite likely that obama eats the heads off of kittens before giving speeches. Unless there is evidence, there is no reason to believe that he parked in any handicap spots that he didn't own.

I never liked Steve Jobs all that much, but when asked why, I never could say.

NOW I CAN.

There's a couple things wrong with this.

A. It goes two ways. Neither of you have adequate evidence that he only abused his own parking lot privileges, just an undying love of Jobs on one side and a cynical viewpoint on the other. Although I don't understand how "only parking in the handicapped zone of his own workplace" is somehow okay. If the FOX News channel CEO parked in the handicapped spot at his work, I don't see him getting off easy "because he owns it".

B. The Obama comment would only be comparable if he DID eat the heads off of kittens THAT HE OWNED before speeches. Hyperbole is not your friend.

C. If you bothered to Wiki him, you'd find out that he didn't become the CEO of Apple until the late nineties. If the article is correct in saying that he was doing this back in the 80s, then you're just flat out wrong.

Hmmm, I used to have no opinion on Steve Jobs whatsoever, I mean, yes he 'invented' the iPod and a whole slew of other things I don't own (not an anti-Apple lunatic, just feel there are better options out there) but the more I read about him the more of a dick he appears to have been.

Obviously it's worth mentioning that a news story entitled 'Steve Jobs; Quite A Nice Bloke' is unlikely to ever get the same amount of attention (and thus never written) so it could just be reporting bias...

There is only one thing that needs to be said here:

"LIKE A BOSS!"

Seriously, Is there a tribute to Jobs' life and career based on that Lonely Island song?

So...he was kind of a jerk in life? I never really followed the man and the only Apple product I own is an iPod Nano, so I don't know much. Is this a pretty accurate idea of what he was like?
I don't see how this is really that bad. Lots of people rent cars, and he just negotiated to rent them on a 6 month schedule. People have only seen him parking in handicap spots on the apple campus, which is apple property.

Legend says that him fired someone in the lift. He IS a revolutionary but a crazy ************ one, almost like Einstein.

Ps: No, nobody is more ************ and revolutionary than Einstein.
Ps2: And Einstein is also a genius.

The worst thing Steve Jobs did was pay to get a liver transplant thus denying someone on the wait list a chance to survive. To explain his pancreatic cancer metastasized and spread to his liver. For most people this would bar them from receiving a transplant because it would make no sense to give a healthy organ to someone who has pancreatic cancer since the anti-rejection drugs would weaken his immune system and allow the cancer to metastasized faster.
