Big overreaction, Tom. He never said ANYTHING to the effect of "we're doing cel shading again", he just said "don't trust the demo, we might take it in a different direction instead". For all we know, they could be planning a squigglevision legend of zelda.
Way to fearmonger.

If this means another game like Wind Waker, then count me in holy shit yes.

I adored that game. I still go back and play through it occasionally. In my opinion, best Zelda game ever.

Clarification: I love OoT, don't get me wrong, but I had more fun with WW. And I never played Majora's Mask till sometime last year on the GameCube, and I dunno...I couldn't do it. I lost all interest right at the beginning. It just didn't hold me.

Not that I've ever heard of a case of a LoZ fan being disappointed by a game in the frnachise...

Well, when I ignore the things I heard about Crossbow training anyway...
Then I guess you've never heard of the 3 CD-I games. If so you're lucky.
I guess I am.

Aren't they supposed to be like the American-made cartoon series?
Actually, they're WORSE than the cartoon if you can believe it. But rather than tell you about them look up "the Angry Video Game Nerd," here's his channel on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesNintendoNerd , and made a three part video about the Zelda CD-I games. He also make really funny videos about horrible old games.

Smart of Nintendo to jump on this before it became another WW shitstorm. Because that was happening.
How??? We have actual trailers out, and they have been out for some time now. They clearly depict a game with graphics completely different from the tech demo that was done at E3.

There have been trailers for Zelda Wii U out for some time now.....?
I believe you are talking about Skyward Sword, when this article is about the snippet of Zelda footage for the Wii U that was shown as a tech demo.

The cartoon wasn't that bad aside from the chemistry between Link and Zelda. I think the intro was the first time Zelda music was conducted by an orchestra and, selfishly speaking, Ganon looked the best. I always preferred Ganon looking like a pig demon.

OT: Never played WW which is a shame because I think I would have enjoyed that game alot more than TP. With TP, I was expecting a hack n slash with puzzle elements and I got the exact opposite of that so I found it tedious. WW looked like a puzzle platforemer that has some combat in it.

I think the art style is just throwing me off due to my expectations of what type of game fits with what art style.

A tech demo is just a tech demo. While I thought it would have been a good idea to make a Zelda game that leans heavily on the graphics capability of the wiiu to show off its' potential to consumers and 3rd party developers, I did not think it was a direct representation of what the game would be like when it does get released.

I wasn't saying anything bad about the cartoon. I was saying that as bad as most fans think the cartoon is, it's nothing compared to how bad the pile of vomit the CD-I games were.

I know it's petty, but I just don't like Cartoon Link. I never liked that kind of art style, mishapen heads, big ass circles for eyes, and feet that make me question how it can bend or where the hell are the feet located, 'cause those aren't feet at the end, but spikes.

But, my anti-cartoon feelings aside, I just hope the next Zelda game we get is better then Twilight Princess.

Barely any enemies, loads of puzzles, stalling, easy bosses, more puzzles and to much homaghing Ocarina of Time.
