This is honestly less of a lore fail then something odd happened down the line during the beta build or some decision was made to switch the characters. This is evidenced by the fact that Falstad was actually seated at the council in a couple of the early builds and then replaced by Kurdran. Who knows maybe it was an accidental coding error. But not as big of a deal as it is really made out to be. Out of the obscene amounts of names it is fairly understandable that two guys aren't going to remember every single one of them.

Hodgson's Law says just shuttup and enjoy the game.

But yeah, seeing the Blizzard devs at a loss for words was golden :)

Here and on gaming forums, he wins. To have such knowledge on something more than the people who made it IS astounding.

However, looking at it with the eyes of a jock or something, you'd call him a loser for being so knowledgeable

But I say, looking from both views, that he wins. Because just as a football fanatic or player learns many things about their field of interest, such as this red shirted guy did. The difference is that we can talk to people about this, since it's fictional. Hell, I'm sure there are scientists that would know more about Hubbard's sci-fi books that he did or whatnot.

That kid fits the word nerd perfectly, but +100 internets to him for catching a designer on their own mistake.

Not really, being on this site makes you a nerd about as much as going on Pornhub makes you a fluffer.

Chris Metzen could've told him that he would tell him if he went and gathered from him 8 Zebra Hooves and 10 Boar Tusks... Or better yet, "You will have to buy Cataclysm to find the answer" :p But really nice going kid, I thought only a me and my brother cared at all at the lore and background of WoW... Definetly mistaken.

Well... That's... Erhm... Pretty sad
Ain't that sad really...

He was just noticing a character that died in a book he read...

I mean, everyone who's read say...LOTR, knows that Saruman dies for example. You don't have to be the authority on the subject.

Is it equally hilarious to see people who know games better than real life?
Ha, easily the best point in the whole comments. It's very true though, it reminded me of Futurama where Fry can't remember any history until someone points out a similar story that happened in the Trek series.
